GW2 Crafting for Nubs [Tutorial Vids]

I personally haven't dipped too much into the crafting scene in the BWE. I prepurchased after the first weekend, and spent most of the second one trying to decide what professions I liked. Still haven't figured out my main...

Since crafting is going to be a major interest of mine come release though, I wanted to get acquainted with the system as best I could and these videos were the ones I thought to be most helpful. They really highlight how to get the most out of your crafting mats, make discoveries, and earn a decent amount of XP at the same time.

I know some of you have probably already figured this stuff out in game or through your own research, but I hope someone learns something!

Saw those too. Good primer for anyone who has no idea on how the crafting will work. 3rd video, the one on cooking is especially helpful.

The first two were pretty good, but I knew about 99% of the information. The cooking video however definitely shed some light on a couple things. Like farms. I am very glad that information was was backed by an Arena Net member. I'm even more excited for cooking than I was before ^_^

I always have mixed emotions when there is an aspect of crafting or trading that is hard to accomplish. On one hand I like that it will keep the majority of people from doing it so I can make gold off it. On the other hand I'm lazy and don't want to go through the trouble even though I know I will because of the gold opportunity and the fact that I'm a completion-ist.

it's a pity i didn't discover the collectible tab during the first bwe. i sold a lot of stuff for nothing . But the upcoming bwe, i'll gather every single onion

I thought if anyone was unaware of the collectible tabs, even after I've seen Gyoin's posts about killing anyone who throws out mats, these videos would eliminate anyone wasting precious mats. After all, if you are out adventuring and find yourself with a full inventory just send them to your collectible tab! Anything that you would have thrown out to pick up that shiny new sword... can now be used by the guild with little to no effort on your part!

Yeah!, in bwe2 i bought from the market (using the free gems) the items i dropped out during bwe1. I think in the next bwe i'll be hitting other starting areas looking for rare ingredients

This seems to be the most interesting MMO crafting system developed in a long time, love the creativity by experimenting and discovering new recipes. And the ability to swap between crafting professions while maintaining your recipes is HUGE. I cant wait to get wrapped up in this. Are we going to have a little crafting sub guild? Arcanix's Artisan Goods Emporium and Warehouse. I picture a gloomy, smokey and fiery sweat shop with Taskmaster Gyoin shouting crafting orders and cracking his whip. "MORE BLUEBERRY COOKIES!!!!" And his beards on fire.
