What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
I usually spend most of my time in PVE as the cooperation aspect of it is what I enjoy most. However with Guild Wars 2, I’m looking to further enrich my MMO experience be expanding into sPVP, WvW, and, for the first time ever, crafting. The latter sounded intimidating at first, but upon reading the guides on this forum, I’m feeling rather confident in this endeavor. Gyosin explained things a very simple and easy way that a moron could understand. That last part really appeals to me for some odd reason but my ego won’t allow me to admit it.

What I also really love about the AltTabMe community are the video projects like Diving Board and I Surrender. I would love to take part in these videos and other social events; eventually I would like to rise high enough in the ranks to help organize and produce them for the community.

Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
I’ve played a lot of MMOs, but among them, the most notable that left an impression on me were Ragnarok Online, Silk Road, Aion and, of course, Guild Wars. My first was Ragnarok Online back when it was using the subscription model. I feel it was a great place to start as it taught me the basic foundations of MMOs such as agro, the holy trinity, and auction house economies. I spent 2 years in iRO. Before moving to free private servers. Then on to Silk Road, I played with my friends in a guild for about a year. We never really organized events and used the game world as a glorified chat room that so happens to let you kill thieves if the conversations tend to trail off. Next was Aion, which I did not spend much time with (and most of that was probably in character creator). However, it did invoke a mindset of efficiently chain my skills together and that is how I approach playing my Guardian. Finally there is Guild Wars, where I have been playing on and off for about 3 years. Guild Wars introduced me to how well structured guilds operate, which actually leads into your next question.

SEGWAY.

Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
I’ve been a part of many guilds that belonged to my friends but they often lacked purpose and organization. As mentioned before: glorified chat rooms. So I didn’t really know how organized guilds operated; that is until I joined the Liars, Thieves, and Cheats [LIARS]. I ventured into Guild Wars by recommendation of a friend who then conveniently quit; so for the first time without BFFs, I was LFG. LIARS took me in and were extremely supportive. I was only midway through the campaign and far from end game content, but they helped me we with obtaining armor and funding. I even remember times when the guild leader skipped dungeon runs just to help me catch up. I told them, for a bunch of liars, cheats, and thieves, they were really helpful and generous. To which they replied back to me, "we take care of our own". That really stuck with me and is what I think of most when I remember being in a guild.

How did you hear about the Guild?
The Guru: Part 2. I saw AltTabMe in the plethora of podcasts postings and thought the name to be quirky. Upon browsing the different podcasts, I found AltTabMe to be the only one able to keep me entertained for the entire duration.

I was implored to learn more about Arcanix and your community. I think it’s amazing you are remnants of a guild from the days of Vanilla WoW. In my head, I’m picturing Tristan calling everyone up and saying “Hey I’m putting the Team back together” Which then cues an Oceans Eleven themed montage introducing everyone and their skill sets.

SEGWAY: First Blood II

What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I like to think I’m a creative person (If not then I like to think of creative lies to tell myself I am), and I believe I would have a really good time helping plan community events. I’m an excellent line producer and an even better PA. People tell me when I PA, it stands for Professionally Awesome (And consequently, India Pale Ale). For my archery club, I’m the unofficial nap supervisor and head of Birthday Action Committee. Speaking of which happy recent birthday, Tristan. So yeah I hope to add some creative organization and wit to your community though you all seem well versed in the art. In Tyria, I’m not entirely too sure what I’ll be good at, yet, but I’m willing to throw myself at whatever the guild needs to “take care of our own”.

I’m actually really excited because this will be my first MMO launch and I’ll be able to help new players when the late majority arrives. Hell, I might even inspire someone to take up crafting.

Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
If accepted, Yak’s Bend will be my home server and Arcanix will be my first and foremost guild. However, I won’t know for sure if I plan to visit other guilds on other servers. In Yak’s Bend though, I will always be representing Arcanix, starting with day one of the required weeklong initiation. I’m also going to assume this is where the hazing takes place. Please, anywhere but the face.

Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I read will mckee app and I’m not like him; I understand you’re more than past your comfortable capacity and realize even allowing me to still apply is simply out of courtesy. I don’t think of you as elitist assholes for being strict on applicants and actually wish other guilds took a more proactive role in engineer their communities.

Come what may, I will still continue to follow the content provided here on AltTabMe and the ventures of Arcanix. Unless those ventures start becoming paved with tortured kittens, then I don’t know.

Thanks for taking the time to read my entire app. That's professionally awesome.

Loving the use of SEGWAY. Even tho I have been corrected many times it's SEGUE. It just looks cooler to write SEGWAY imo.

+1

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED.
