GW2 Favorite Weapons on Guardian?

My favorite PVP combo was using a Hammer and my alternate set was 1H Sword with Shield.

I loved to knock people back 30 yards, snare them, then switch to sword and do some range harass before teleporting in, then rinse repeat.

That is an interesting way to handle em. I found my favorite combo was Scepter Shield with a Greatsword for sPvP, Loved chain grabbing an entire team and disorienting them while putting down the mark and doing AoE. Then my Sceptor for runners and my shield for interrupting heals.

For WvW it was usually the same but often had the GS switched with a staff for the speed boosts and wall.
Sometimes I would bust out the one handed sword for fun.

For PvE I really enjoyed Sword and Torch. Firebreath just makes me happy and the sword just does great Damage.
And either a Scepter/shield or Scepter/Focus or GS in the off for when I needed to stay FAR away from the enemy and still support / do damage.

I hated the hammer other than the appeal of the knockback. I think that is why I enjoy the Mesmer now so much is due to the GS kncokback which I have taken 5 guys at a time off walls in WvW with before ;)

I usually like sword type weapons, the most fun I'd say to me is Greatsword and Scepter/shield for PvP, you get the close range damage and snares on the greatsword, and if the bastards are running away (mesmers) pull out your scepter, chain them, run up to them and faceroll lol.

But as for most damage output and offensive guardian, easily favourite is Sword/Shield and Scepter/Focus, with crit traits and runes. I'd kill people in 5 seconds by just spamming number 1 and 3 on the sword, it's got amazing damage potential.

Nooo someone took the first guardian post!!

Anyways I have two builds that I'm running now. For my pure defense heal build I'm going with mace+shield and scepter+focus. Run around with scepter to hit thing at range then switch to mace when on the objectives for massive takin and area healing. This build runs the walls, bubbles and defense stuff.

More recent build I'm liking alot more is mobile support. Greatword and sword+focus. Lots of moving, more damage and till lots of CC and support. Going with an all shout build, found it very versatile but not for everyone - only use if you like and know how to use I would suggest. The other build is more common, easier to use an more forgiving.

Oh and I'm using the Tone of Courage for the ultimate - hahaha you can't kill me/ of shit button. :D

I like the scepter+shield for the immobilize and knock back options. Also, by using scepter you basically set up every single engagement because you're ranged. Aoe prot can't hurt also. Greatsword for interrupt + kd and pull with escape or chase on 4.

For my PvE build I chose to use the greatsword, mainly because I loved getting swarmed by mobs (that's why I needed the AoE and chose the greatsword as the weapon of my choice).
I haven't chosen a secondary weapon yet, but I did have a hammer with me almost all the time (I didn't use it very much). Mainly because I liked the sound effects of some skills lol (still gotta check out the scepter and staff btw, I'm not keeping the hammer).

I might use a sword/shield or mace/shield setup for my PvP build, though I haven't really put a lot of time into PvP so I don't know yet.
I still have to check out the focus and torch too. I did read about the focus and it seems quite intriguing to me.

I knew I wanted sword-&-torch from the moment they announced it as an option. It's loads of fun. Like Razulian, I swap to greatsword when I'm overwhelmed; the built-in combos are nice, especially when paired with fire fields from utilities like Purging Flames. I'll probably use scepter-&-focus for PvP to benefit from that +15% crit trait and to actually have some ranged attacks.

I initially considered the staff, but found it to be a little clunky. Banish, the big single-target punt on the hammer, is satisfying, but sadly that's its only redeeming factor. Mace-&-shield are more defensive than would complement my playstyle, although I could see myself being a huge nuisance with them and Tome of Courage in PvP.

last BWE I was really enjoying the sword + focus and scepter + shield in pvp. Sword & Focus for the Teleport, the ranged attack that also blocks incoming ranged attacks, the ray of judgement, as well as that shield that blocks like 3 or more attacks, an after a certain time if its not broken it will explode and do some aoe damage. Scepter & Shield for the root, the shield wave that damages foes and gives me and 5 allies some protection, and then that shield of absorption I think it was, it creates a nice sized dome on the ground, absorbs incoming ranged attacks for allys, knocks back enemies as well is a combo field light or whatever. Didn't really mess with anything else PvP wise, however the Torch deal was fun for shits and gigs in pve, blowing fire all over the place.
