Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

I can't get the wifi here to stay up long enough to update the beta client. I'll just register my pre order and play when I get back home.

It's been pretty smooth even tho it's crowded as hell. I'm expecting even longer queues (so far 30sec/38ppl the longest) once it opens to new registrees on the 17th, launch will be chaos. Runs SUPER stable so far.[DOUBLEPOST=1376715546,1376715251][/DOUBLEPOST]BTW!! already past my first full subligar+harness set LOL with a turban to boot!! and it's purple... I'll post some screenies tomorrow.
 
I wasn't able to get a spot on gilgamesh this time around. I'll keep trying. Some of my names are: Atomysk Tritan, Gale Sandlewood, Zeph Alatyr, Neph Alatyr, Ren D'gar
 
Every server is pretty much overloaded, Gilgamesh is kinda de Reddit server so... yes, quite packed. With a little patience you can get in tho.
 
I got into the Open Beta a while ago, and I felt sort of bored. Not being able to skip cutscenes is unbearable.

The game probably gets really good later on, but the beginning was far too slow. It's probably because I didn't ever play FF11 though.
 
I can't believe I've done it, but I pre-ordered a PC digital download of the game.

Yeah. I was counting this game out - for myself - simply because I've never been into FF. However, the game looks really good for a standard WoW-esque MMO and lalafell are too hard to resist. I don't have an MMO right now, except for occasionally grinding on EQ so I had to do it! (Not to mention lalafell are very cute). I'm also very anxious to play with the lot of you and this seems to be my first opportunity to do so.

QUESTION:
I've been trying to get concrete information regarding early access and downloading a client - also, getting a one time password on my iphone. As I've read, the early access begins August 24th - but, why can't I go ahead and download the game client? The only option available is a PDF which states something along the lines of 'wait for a follow up email regarding early access information' and 'register as a member here:' .
 
Yeah, only members of the Phase 4 beta can download the client. But if you like, I'll put the setup file in my dropbox so you can get it.

You'll need to be able to log in in order to DL the full client though.

Otherwise you'll need to wait until the 22-23 or something to get access to the client.

Also, for those of you in beta right now, I created the ALTTABME Linkshell again. PM Elkantar Alzaria for an invite to the Linkshell.

Ok, thanks for the reassurance! As I understand it, characters can level up multiple classes - however, I'm really big on heals/CC and DPS via DoT - ^^ I'm not sure what I'll make.

Use that link to get the exe.

And yes, you can level any and all classes. After you reach level 10 in your first class, you can activate the other classes.

If you want heals and DOTs, the Arcanist class and Scholar job will be right up your alley.
 
Can't wait to get back and get this game going just hope i can get on the gilgamesh server.

I only got to play a little bit today but I got to lv15 and Airship pass to visit the other cities yayyy!!

Finally got a chance to get a way from my uni work and get my hands on the open beta. I'll be joining you guys very shortly as a pugilist.
 
I'm bored enough to give this game another shot. I'll send someone a PM or something if I actually make it farther in the game this time.
 
Can't even log in to Gilgamesh today. This is like Blackrock back in the day.

Might have to wait until Early Access to get everyone together.
 
I had thought about it but probably wasn't going to buy it with Wildstar so close, but with the recent WSW news making everyone feel like it will be pushed back I'm much more likely to buy it to fill the gap from now to release. Still though I will probably wait to see news from Gamescom and PAX just in case Carbine has any sneaky surprises in store for us.
 
Servers blew up! lol I still played quite a bit tho LNC15 PGL10 not bad, really liking Pugilist style to be honest.
 
hmmm... I would love that but to be honest... don't think Yohi P. will do that, most likely they will work on the server loads and the feedback they got from the reports and their own data.
I will /crossfingers they do extend tho.
