For those of you who don't know me, my name is Tristan Pope, former Machinimist of titles such as "Frostshock" and "Not Just another Love Story", then turned Blizzard Entertainment cinematic-tist helping to direct such things as the South Park episode "Make Love not Warcraft", then turned... yeah still figuring that one out. >.> ANYWHOOOO my personal journeys aside...

I decided to re-create my FIRST EVER machinima video as well as first story-lined machinima video from World of Warcraft sooo many years back called "I Surrender".(link to the old video if you don't mind spinning and bad camera work)

Back then I created that video in the last 3 hours of the final beta weekend. I figured, hey, why not kick off Guild Wars 2, the first MMO since my Ultima Online days to make me all fuzzy inside again with an homage.

So with a little more time and some planning under my belt this time, 15 hours, 3 dedicated "actors"(loyal friends), a very understanding guild(Arcanix), and a hoarse voice from yelling at my monitor to get people to NOT resurrect our characters(as the game promoted) when dead...

I give you: "I Surrender 2012"

P.S. There is no first person camera in the game and only about 5-6 emotes that were implemented at the time.

Really good, I've watched it like 5 times now. Great job!

As awesome as it was when you streamed it.

I'm more than willing to put in any amount of time and effort to help with other projects you'd like to do.

Oh man, that was great. It gets better every time I see it :D

P.S. how did you do the ghost effects at the end? Stealth, clones/phantasms?

HOLY CRAP! That was amazing especially knowing the limitations of the camera in game.

beautiful work man, nice to see something touching like this..

but seriously, you did Frostshock? lol, i have it favorite'd on youtube still (for years it feels like)

Excellent job, definitely can't wait to see what else you can come up with in this game!

*Edit* No reddit? I can only upvote this thing so many times on YouTube! *ponywah2:
