Soy sauce is a great compliment to many fishes while still retaining the taste of the fish itself. You shouldn't douse the fish in the soy sauce, it's meant to add a little zest/saltiness to it. It's an additive of taste, not a replacement of taste.Your going to the Wrong places if you need to add soy sauce >.>
Is it the consistency or just the 'raw fish' aspect? As Bruce mentioned, a lot of times you can find something great by asking for the chef's recommendation. Even letting them know that you're fairly new to it (so they don't give you something crazy)
Oh. Gross. Never do that again.I just don't think I've been to a quality sushi place. The stuff I've had has either been at a buffet style place or from a grocery store.

Yeah.. that's tough. Just find any local place and start off with a Chicken Terriyaki roll (not at all traditional, but a great entry piece), Dynamite Roll and Spider Roll. 3 easy classics that aren't too over the top. Also, if you like spicy, definitely try a BakudanI just don't think I've been to a quality sushi place. The stuff I've had has either been at a buffet style place or from a grocery store.

Yes, but for a beginner, it's very easy to eat and is a great intro piece without being that fishylol there is fake crab and avacodo. I personaly dont like rolls that much, sushi or shashimi for me but yeah if you havent had any good fish probably try a few rolls first

If I had the cash I would do it.I saw the documentary. In the film they quoted a guy that a meal was about $300 US to start, more if they got expensive fish that day. Supposedly its the best sushi in the world though.
