Falkner - do you have an onboard sound card now? Any review I can ever find never compares gaming with on-board v. a dedicated audio card. Let us know if there is a difference, please.
(might as well make use out of this accidental double-post)
Does anyone know how well GW2 handles positional audio? I don't want to drop a lot on something like the Razer Tiamat, but it's really tempting if GW2 handles its audio well.
Got that one also, it's verry comfy!http://www.frys.com/product/5980424?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG <----$40 just got myself a pair on wensday..great headset. Velvet ear cups and comfy for the head.
Good to know, thanks.Don't buy the Tiamat - the mic sucks. I don't mean it's not good - it sucks. I actually returned it, it was so bad. The reason being is that Razer uses low quality unidirectional mics instead of good quality noice-cancelling mics that other headset companies (Sennheisers, Turtle Beach, etc.) use.
The sennheiser is your best choice for sound and mic quality and build quality but it is expensive.
Works with onboard sound as well as soundcard sound.
True 7.1 cannot be done properly on headphones/headset (I know about the Tiamats). Logitech has gotten great reviews and the Carcharias is great on comfort. As long as you can get them for cheap.
EDIT: I also recommend the Corsair Vengeance 1500 or 1300 or the Corsair HS1
