I mostly enjoy PvE in a casual/social way. Althought the WvWvW featured in GW2 really intrigues me. I do not have time to do hardcore progressive / end-game type of play.
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
Since my college days, I have played a variety of online games, from puzzles to shooters to MMO's. I started my online "life" playing competitive deathmatch and CTF on Quake 2 in the late 90s. Here's a quick list of a few of the games I enjoyed on PC:
TEJAZ Clan is who represented in my early online days playing Q2 and Q3, mostly being one of the flag runners. My membership to TEJAZ also ended my competitive days. In 2006 I joined THE OLDER GAMERS (TOG) Guild Wars Division, going through the ranks from member to divisional vice-commander. After being burned out on GW1, I then joined the TOG COD division where I also ended up being a divisional vice-commander for COD:WaW and a the COD4 Leader of the North American Squad. In 2009, I left TOG to help some friends create a new "smallish" gaming community, Twilight Gamers (and no, it has nothing to do with the books!), becoming the main graphic designer for the site and one of its administrator. We catered to GW1, COD4, COD:MW2, COD:BO, WOW, BF3 and SWTOR.
How did you hear about the Guild?
Through my good buddy Jia, who I have known since GW1. He's the one who told me of Arcanix as we were discussing guilds and online communities.
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I'm quite the chatty player... although my multitasking skills are a bit rusty in that I can play OR chat... doing both can be hard. Unless I'm on a voice server. French accented gal that has a potty mouth and doesn't shut up? Yep that would be me. I'm definitely not an elitist and probably not the best player. Still I tend to be a fast learner and will always try to help people if I can.
Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
Yes. I cannot fathom having the time or the need to represent more than one guild (okay, maybe if my daughter was older and wanted me in her guild... but she's only 2, so I doubt that will happen).
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I am currently affiliated with TOG, but their GW2 division is just taking ridiculous proportion with 600+ members growing daily. I want something smaller, almost family like. From the look of things, ALTTABME is the type of community my own Twilight Gamers was striving to be and the type of place I would like to call "home" (okay I know this sounds really cheesy, but it is the way I feel). When I sit in front of my computer for one or two hours of gameplay, I want to have fun with other people, be able to socialize and leave my work and real life baggage behind. My free time is limited and as such, I have no time for the drama that tends to poison bigger "all are welcome" communities. I do enjoy photoshoping, so if you ever need some help in that domain, just ask (although by the look of the site, you don't need it!). Anything else you want to know, just ask away and I shall answer. Oh and one last thing, anything bad that Jia says about me is a lie
