[Jul 13, 2013] F2P Saturday! SMITE and TF2, Round Two! (Smite / Mumble)

We were in a closed beta a loooong time ago. It felt clunky, repetitive, and relatively shitty. It's a cool concept, but just didn't feel right. Hopefully since then there has been A LOT of polish and tweaking. I'd be more interested in trying it again if I knew this was true.

It's awesome ... for about a day. Then it gets very repetitive. I tried it multiple times throughout its beta and they never really solved that aspect of it. I love the graphics, animation, movement, weapons, etc.. but it just wasn't enough to keep me interested at all.

Maybe they changed something in open beta? *shrug*
 
They actually have taken all teh feedback given to them and posted reasons as to why they disagree.... it is a cluster fuck of a nightmare PR wise. They are telling all testers to go fuck themselves instead of trying to improve. They used Closed beta as a way to fight their reasoning vs improve on it.
 
I might be at Beer Fest with some friends during this (at least the early part), so I am a /maybe now.

One of the best reasons I have seen yet as to why someone will miss something. Not only am I not upset in the slightest, I am jealous I can't join you.
 
I too may miss at least the later portion of this, friends are having a party and calling it "Sluthammer" so I obviously need to be there for that along with some of the pre-party afternoon shennanigans.
 
No worries, we'll assemble at the usual 2PM EST time frame and play some pick-up TF2 until we have teams for Smite.
 
Real life stuff has come up for me, so I will not make it. BUT, people should still log on and play some T2 and Smite.

I will, however, be on go-karts and mini-golfing and batting cages and other awesome outdoors stuffs! Sorry guys, have fun!

The more important things always win. Should maybe save F2P Saturdays until people actually want to commit and that's not aimed at you, everyone in general.

F2P Saturdays are here for people if they want to participate. We cannot decide who will make it and who will not. But they are here for people to know that others will be around if they wish to show up.

As well people can setup F2P "any other day of the week" if they want to :)

Taking the initiative is what we are always about.

Right, but aren't the games ALWAYS up for people to play together whenever? That's how these Saturdays are seeming to me. Everyone should know you can play whatever whenever with whoever. Tomorrow is F2P Sunday, get people together and play if you'd like. Just seems like a waste at this point and doesn't look good with all the bad coordination.

Edit: Btw, it may seem like I'm complaining but I assure you I'm not. Just don't want you guys or the site not looking good because things aren't fully thought out or planned.

I think mostly everyone here understands these are casual, and if not they do now :p . That's why they are F2P games. Weekends are rough for a lot of people. Luckily we have been having lots of fun in Cube World and many people have been getting to know one another via mumble and other means on the site. These are an added flavor to it all!

If we were super serious about attendance we would make it known vs a casual meet up with a very flexible time frame. I doubt anyone thinks it looks bad when we have one fall through here or there. The last 4 or 5 were pretty damn successful :)
