A:
Ok, I really hope you guys get a key and I liked it! But... just...
B:
If anyone understand sounds. I understand sound.
I will start with this:
This was our first ever attempt at recording a song. We are not pros. We don't sing or perform like at all EVER. You won't hear me singing in public, trust me. The lyrics were written by Andrew. If you heard the original song by P Diddy, it was meant to be sung by me, and rapped/said on his part. So his voice is supposed to be lower more in the speaking range. (We have a TON of rock/metal fans so I think this distinction would be lost on that group. Don't get me wrong we love rock but listen to rap as well.)
C:
Are you sure you also like rap? Otherwise you would have been floored that I compared you to Rihanna....
And next, about the video:
Really? I mean, REALLY? That's pretty immature to make fun of us like that. When we listened to the final version multiple times, the volume levels of all the tracks were very audible and we also included the lyrics in case you were not able to hear properly for some reason.
D:
Can we not play around for one second and just be truthful with one another, the levels are off, plain and simple. It is hard to hear you, and when it gets lower for him it becomes even more difficult. But I could give to shits about that, I fuck up audio all the time, shit podcast to podcast I fuck it up. But this where the comparison comes from, Went from Audible to almost inaudible. Plain and simple. I never thought I would see someone get so upset about a poke of fun at their sound levels. Shit I get poked by Bruce about mine EVERY DAMN PODCAST. -brucesfist-
I would have hoped that a leader of such a great community like this would support everyone's attempt at creativity and going outside of their comfort zone or at least give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. (That being said, THANK YOU everyone who has supported us and given feedback so far. We really appreciate it!!)
That is a pretty funny clip you linked, but the derogatory way in which you compared it to us was NOT funny.
Ok, I really hope you guys get a key and I liked it!
Am I missing the derogatory way in which I compared it and the part where I was not supporting this?
I don't mind if people downvote or even say they hate it - some people hate that sort of music. And in the real world some people can be real assholes about the way they give their opinion. Don't degrade our efforts and creativity, because we had a lot of fun doing this, and honestly the lyrics were pretty damn fun and entertaining. Andrew wrote those, did I mention? How talented is THAT?? I can't write shit like that!
No one has degraded your efforts or creativity here. A poke at sound levels was had. End of story.
This is not a rage post or a butthurt post - we really could not care less if people hate this, but as members of AltTabMe who support our community, I guess we just expected more from the leadership of this great guild.
Let me link a few things here since as Vesi says later you guys are a bit new here so you might have missed it:
- Who are your community Leaders?
- Community Rules and Guidelines
Now why have I linked these?
AltTabMe is a gaming community where we enjoy lots of games. We talk, write, podcast, and of course play them! What better way is there to play them, then to play with one another? That being said our motto is:
"The Community That OUTLASTS Release Dates"
With that in mind, we invite anyone and everyone who enjoys kicking back from a long day to come to AltTabMe and post about gaming, rant about their day, or just lurk. At the end of the day this community is here as a place to relax and be yourself. Then when we get off from our jobs and have access to our super awesome gaming rigs, we like to load up our favorite games and play with one another.
This is where we are more selective. If were to invite anyone who signed up for AltTabMe to play with us, we would never really get to know one another and have that sense of a tightly knit community, hell even a family.
We are not just a Wildstar Guild. And me linking a video reflects on NOTHING for the leadership of the Wildstar guild.
Now let me explain a little bit about our "leadership" take right out of the first paragraph of the first link:
We wanted do a post about officers and guild leaders and moderators to explain more about ourselves. What we do, have done, and plan on doing. Also this is a way to make it less weird when a leader comes into mumble and smack talks during a game of black light. We want you to know we are approachable vs directing everyone and keeping too much distance. I think you all would agree.
We need to make it clear we are here to have fun too. We do take on more responsibility but we don't want to have that "boss" "worker" mentality. We want it to be open, free flowing, and comfortable. We don't want to throw people off when we are goofing around or the like. It is important for us and for the community. So here ya go, a word from your ...sponsors?
I hope that clears up that part.
The lyrics are posted as well, if you don't understand what Andrew's saying. That's his normal voice as well; he is more soft spoken IRL than most people and this is a rap which is mean to be spoken.
Thanks for the support though!!
I don't understand why we are making up excuses. I am not one to blow smoke up anyone's ass, especially when it comes to performance. Why? Because this is why there are blooper reels like this on programs like the X Factor:
To be honest, I supported this song, the effort that went into it, and you both, without even thinking twice about it because you are members. But I also didn't go and look up the lyrics when I couldn't make them out on the youtube audio. I am too lazy for that, and to be honest so is the majority of humanity. So while yes I was poking some fun at your levels if we really want to get into production quality and constructive criticism which I wasn't doing because it wasn't "prefixed" here when you posted, we can, and I would love to try to help you guys improve upon the production quality including levels, overall processing, and maybe even go through some of the lyrics and performance value, from an outside perspective.
I also took this for what it was, a quick entry to Pay It Forward. So I figured fuck it, levels or not, they deserve props for putting themselves out there and getting it done.
