I've officially passed my boards and am now licensed. Now a sobering moment as you all realize I will be responsible for keeping people alive. I'd like to thank everyone who told me I was full of shit when I wasn't sure if I'd be able to pass this thing the first time around. I actually pulled it off in 75 questions, which means I really did well (if you don't pass by 75 questions the system will keep throwing questions at you until you either pass or fail based on an algorythm of some sort). Now let's grab some cold beers and celebrate. It's been a hell of a year doing this accelerated program and it seems like today will be the first day I'm not cramming for something since last May.

Lol just thinking the same thing as Gyoin. Wasn't hard to find you. But congrats and cheers. Now swing back a few for us all sober ones

So uhm... buddy pal... names and addresses please, and FFS I have found my new calling in life. They want to take care of me, and feed me, and nurse me back to health!
 
Congrats man, I'm sure it took a ton of work, effort and sacrifices. As someone who starts school again in January, I commend you for finishing!

Haha, you haven't met many nurses have you? All it takes is a few years and they turn bitchy, jaded, and unempathetic. It would be like being a professional garbage man and everyone expecting you to take out their garbage when they get home.

True, I know a few doctors and they are all about caring for you. <3 it :)
 
Way to go!

My wife is an LPN and her mother and most of her sisters are RNs. She still talks about how horrid the test is. Good for you!

NP; I find it a much better option then PA. I'm already enrolled in an NP program and it starts next May haha. I may eventually get my DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) but only if my job will pay for it.
 
Just an update, I finally was able to land an interview for the exact position at the exact hospital I wanted! The Hospital is ranked #1 in NYC so it will definitely be an amazing place to start my career if it works out.
