I like short names so I'm hoping to get some good 3-letter names, I have a huge list of them to try with my 3-day headstart access. I will be able to reveal what I get upon realease!
Race
Charr is by far my favorite, but I will have one of each race at release since I'd like to try each one, Asura is a close second.
Profession(Class)
Guardian - I tried each profession during the Beta weekends, I thought for sure before BWE1 that I would be choosing Necromancer, since that is my main in GW1, but I found I didn't like it at all. The Guardian turned out to be the most fun for me, being a big heavy armor wearing caster is awesome =)
What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
PvE is definitely what I'll be playing mostly, I'm not all that good at PvP in any MMO's, but I do dabble now and then. If there is an achievement for it, that would draw me into doing even a bit of PvP.
I'm an achievement-aholic, which just makes me way more excited about GW2 since there are so many including daily, weekly, monthly and so on.
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
Darkness Falls: The Crusade was the first MMO I ever played, now it was text based, but it was still a bunch of people online playing! We had the best bunch of people that played, it was almost like the whole realm was a tight knit guild, and there were 3 realms Good, Evil and Chaos. I was a Werewolf in the Evil realm, it was a great time with that game, I was sad when it shut down. Not sure how long I played but it was at least 2-3 years or so.
Years later I played Guild Wars for 4 years straight, then on and off for the last 2 years, it's hard to get back into with all the skill updates and having to restructure all of my builds just to play halfway decent. I did get my HoM to 32/50, but lack of money and a guild keeps me from getting any more points unfortunately, well that and again, it's kinda difficult to get back into GW1, especially when I just want to get back to GW2.
I think the best part of me and Guild Wars is how I ever heard of the game. My husband (who has been wheelchair bound for nearly 2 years now) used to be a Truck driver and one day he came home for the weekend and had stopped by Best Buy on his way. He had gone there to get himself a game and he saw a game with the word 'guild' in it and picked it up for me. It's been my favorite game since.
I also play Runescape currently, I started playing summer 2001, the same year the game came out. I would play for a year and take a 6 month or so break then play for a year and so on until Dec 25, 2010 in which I subscribed to member's and have stayed since. The name's Mokk on there if you ever want to look me up!
Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
In Guild Wars I was part of a great guild for a few years, but there was a lot of drama apparently (I missed most of whatever had happened) and the guild disbanded. They started up a spinoff guild, which didn't last long due to more drama that I missed. So I started my own solo guild which I'm still in today, unfortunately that makes it hard to play content meant for groups.
In Runescape I am in a clan of about 400 members, many active, though it's hard to get to know so many people. We have a high level Citadel which I help with every week.
How did you hear about the Guild?
I saw the post about the Charr Mesmer diving video and decided to watch the 13 minute director's cut and I was amazed at so many people having a great time together like that. It made me want to be a part of it!
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I love to joke around, games are my escape and I'm here to have fun, it's much more fun with other people to share it with. I'm also very helpful, if someone has a question, I'm more than happy to do a search myself if I don't know the answer, even if it's easier to just say 'check the wiki', which it usually is easier, but I'd rather give an intelligent answer. Besides that I'll be dedicated to this game, as soon as it's released it will be the only thing I play for a long time =)
Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
Most likely, I'm not interested in having multiple guilds, it would probably confuse me more than anything
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
This is the first guild app I've ever done, well the first real one I suppose. Any other guild or clan I've been in just wanted to know what my name and combat level were! I am glad to see that you aren't just taking anyone that fills out an application, it makes for quality and not quantity in the people you accept.
