LIVE Pen and Paper Live pen and paper RPG resource thread.

hmm ok. I think I was thinking int was good because of the skill point thing. I think I'll be going heavy into Dex and Cha then at least 2 pts in str to get over my Halfling penalty then probably the rest in Con.

Looks like I'll be dropping the blowgun. It was contingent on being able to use poisons. The sling is the backup weapon plus there is some cool ammo that I could use like sharpstones and spongestones to help in certain situations.

As for daggers, I thought halflings got a bonus to using daggers (and slings for that matter). I'll look into short swords. I kinda like daggers though for my rp. My guy would rather be underestimated by not showing weapons. This way they are more likely to think they can take advantage of him and/or not feel as threatened. Plus I wanted wrist sheathes.

I do want to go into two weapon fighting also.

Pathfinder wasn't around 8 years ago either, and it's different enough from 3.5e that some good ideas in one are bad ideas in the other. Or bad ideas in one are even worse in the other.

Sounds like a plan.

Upon closer inspection, you can get some pretty nice bonuses with daggers. Look at the Knife Master archetype. Halflings don't get special bonuses to use daggers except for an alternative favored class option, and you're probably going to want hit points instead. You can also read these guys discussing this exact problem.

Hmm... Quick Question Red Omen, elementalist wizards. Are they restricted to only elementalist wizard spells, or do they have access to all wizard spells?

I am so God Damn confused now on what I want to do with my rogue. All the people say rogues are the worst class and halfling is the worst race but fuck them I am staying with that.

I wanted to split between combat and diplomacy, but now I think I'll drop some diplomacy. In stead of being a great manipulator my guy is gonna be more of a chip on his shoulder type of guy. I have a back-story written out and I am trying to build the character around that. I think it will be more fun that way even if it leads to not the most optimal character on paper stats wise.

I very well may go into knife master archetype although sapper and swashbuckler are good too. The real problem I have with the archetypes is that to get one I almost always have to give up trapfinding and trap sense. How important is it that the rogue has extra good trap finding abilities? My perception will still probably be pretty high, Others can find traps and I can still be better at disarming them when found even without the skills.

Elementalist wizards must memorize an elemental spell in their extra spell slot, but spells from the opposing element take two slots. I think. I'll take a closer look when I'm not on my phone.

Monks and fighters are the most underpowered classes, I believe. Rogues and halflings do have some issues (it's hard being small and in combat) but you should be fine. I don't use traps too much, and I'll let you detect them even if you forfeit a class feature. Don't feel like you have to give up Charisma stuff; be what you wanna be.

I'll go with an archetype then. Still deciding if my guy will have a minor focus on the Cha stuff since it could go either way depending on how I want to play it.

Wow, been fiddling with roll20.net. Wow. Awesome. You can actually start a campaign and sync it with google hangouts. It melds both programs together. Awesome. I'm very excited to be using this. And you can just /roll 1d6+1 or /roll d20 or /roll 5d10+7 or whatever combo you want and comes right into chat. This is going to make everything so streamlined and, y'know, non-cheating haha.

We're totally turning on physical dice, by the way. My only regret is that it doesn't have d3s for T1G's daggers.

I have an actual full set of dice I can roll if needed.

Edit: if you be trollin you win. D3 is just a d6 where you take half the score. You got me.

As do I, but I'm referring to the feature in Roll20 that visually represents your die rolls in 3D on the playing mat. I'll show you guys today.

I've got a concert on Sunday, but not until 9pm Eastern. I should be able to give you guys something.

Before we get started, try to find a picture that you think represents your character. This, for example, would be good for Corbie (T1G's character). We can crop this down and use it as a token, in addition to keeping it stored with your character sheet.

Larger versions are better if possible, but not necessary.

But, uh... don't feel like you have to expand the boundaries of the one for MB. I don't want to see much more of that.
