Loot Crate

Anyone ever heard of this place? I never knew about it until today, when someone linked a pic of what was in the Titan themed box this month.

Their whole website is a cool concept though. Selling loot boxes of gamer/geek stuff is a neat idea.

Ya I have heard of it. From what I have seen its mostly stuff you don't care about and a few things you like. Check out some loot crate unboxing videos on youtube and you will get a real good idea if its worth spending money on or not. For me it was not.

I think it depends on the crate honestly. which is why I might pick a random month but I wouldn't suscribe.

I looked into it when it was first announced. Too much crap to be worthwhile IMO. And I LOVE random stuff.

Their target market seems to be someone who is geeky enough to like collecting really random things and has some money to burn. I think most people like the part of the buying experience where they look for the stuff themselves. I guess if you like surprises and getting presents this could be fun, but every month would start to get old for me.

It's like a "Wine of the Month" club for geeks. Some months will be really great, others will suck.

This would actually be a good gift for a geeky girlfriend or boyfriend. You would get kudos every month without having to remember to actually do anything, and you could just change the shipping address to stop them coming.
