Maine Senator Candidate criticized for playing WoW

It's better with cheddar!
I don't know if any of you heard, but it seems that Colleen Lachowicz, candidate for one of Maine's senate seats, is being criticized for playing World of Warcraft by her opponent. This is one of the ads being run against her:

As a resident of California, I'm not familiar with Lachowicz or her policies, but I am a passionate gamer. As such, it really upsets me to see such a negative portrayal of the group I identify most with. Granted, negative political adds are nothing new, but this one is a blatant attack not on her political life but her private one. I don't have to tell you guys that gamers are all types of people, rarely fitting the stereotype of anti-social, lazy, or violent which is what I believe her opponent is attempting to portray her as (there's a website dedicated solely to tracking her internet exploits). Anyway, this sort of fired me up, and I was wondering if you all feel the same way, or perhaps disagree.

I'm just shocked she's still in WotLK armor after all this time... ;)

Really though, yeah... this is dumb, but it's what politics has become. It's pretty sad. This is also why I could never run for public office, lord knows what they'd dig up on me out on the interwebs.
