Zakis has withdrawn from the campaign (scheduling issues). Campaign has a slot open if anyone wants to play, and for the time being we will continue as is.
In the world in it's current state, peace had existed to the public. But behind the scenes, there has been evil turning about. In the remote village of Tewks, everything seemed just as normal as always, but alas, there was a new villager that had appeared a week ago named Villuen Aladune. This man had talked of fate and destiny, that he is awaiting for four strangers to appear before him. The villagers let him be as he caused no harm (and even enjoyed his whimsical play of the lute), but hoped soon he would find what he came for.
Some days after Villuens arrival to Tewks, another man had appeared. A human monk by the name of Cooper Maxwell. As strange as Villuen was, Cooper was weirder than him. A shoeless monk searching for shoes. As Villuen watches his actions, he wondered if Cooper is one of the adventurers he was there to find. But until other adventurers had come, Villuen could not be sure. He would continue to play his lute while waiting for further adventurers before approaching Cooper.
A few days after that, the day Villuen was waiting for had arrived. While playing his lute for the townsfolk (And Cooper sitting at the bar), a human Sorcerer had walked through the Taverns doors. Villuen was having a hard time containing his excitement, two adventurers within a few days of each other! Something must be going on. While the sorcerer ordered a drink at the bar, a half-elven Ranger had also entered the tavern. Villuen's eyes could not peel away from the door! One more! he keeps thinking. Fate could unfold before my very eyes!
Just as these thoughts crossed Villuen's mind, an elven Druid enters through the door. "HUZZAH!" yells Villuen. All the townsfolk in the back of the tavern start whispering amongst themselves. "You four over there! Come with me!" Villuen says while pointing at the scattered adventurers. "I have been waiting your arrival!"
With some reluctance, the four adventurers gathered around Villuen. "You four, your bar tab is on me! Please join me for some food and ale while you relish me with your stories! Please, tell me your names!"
The monk declares first - "Cooper Maxwell of the Shala'jen monastery was never your ordinary monk. A follower of Talos, God of Lightning and Destruction as was every one of the Shala'jen. One day Cooper felt the call of Talos and climbed to the top of a mountain to meditate. Cooper meditated for 5 days without food or water, before awaking with a premonition of dread. He hurried quickly down the mountain to find all of the inhabitants of the Shala'jen monestary dead. No work of Talos, the destruction was wonton and without reason. After walking around the monestary, Cooper realized that the souls of his comrades hadn't all moved to the next plane. That night, the spirits of his friends and fellow monks arose and began roaming around aimlessly, going about their normal daily routine in the monestary. Cooper stayed in his best friend's room to contemplate what had happened. It came to pass that after spending 2 nights in the room, the ghost of his friend, Rajesh, revealed himself to Cooper and told him that though he could not remember who or what had destroyed the monestary, that Cooper's tabi would lead him along the path of retribution. A swirl of spirtiual energy surrounded Cooper and moved down along his body to his tabi. From then on, he could feel that the spirits of Rajesh and his other friends at the monestary were with him. Traveling along the road aimlessly for days and nights, Cooper didn't feel alone. Then one day, Cooper took his tabi off to sleep and when he awoke, they were gone. Heartbroken, Cooper searched high and low for his shoes but couldn't find them. He began to travel from city to city, hoping to hear rumors of haunted shoes, possessed by spirits. His journeys brought him to the village of Tewks. Known around the village as the shoeless monk, Cooper searched and searched for clues about his tabi."
Villuen has overheard parts of the story a few times the past few days, but to hear the story from start to finish had inspired him! "Sorcerer! Please! Let me hear your story!"
"I am Ezra, and I hail from the Crown of the World. I am but a humble traveler, and I seek naught but wisdom. I shall assist as long as it further enriches my own learning."
"Ranger! Please, let me know what it is you are doing in Tewks?"
(Zakis can you do the same?)
"Druid, I see a large cat outside the Tavern, I assume she belongs to you?"
"My name is Shikoba, and the cat outside is Lota. I come from a village of mostly rangers and druids, living with nature. I am on a right of passage set by my master for a higher understanding of balance and nature itself."
"Well then! I have a proposal for you four. A fortune teller had recently told me I would find four adventurers in this tavern to aid me in rescuing my sister. A horde of Goblins had abducted her a week ago. It has been painstaking to be waiting, but I had faith that you four would arrive! I can grant you some riches, as well as some knowledge from my fortune teller. As you can see, the fortunes have come true so far!"
With his back turned, Villuen reaches into his pouch. Sira had noticed a purplish glow coming from the pouch, while the rest only saw the gold bar in Villuens hand. "This is what I can start with for pay. I know it may not be much, but this is only a trifle compared to the wealth of knowledge I can supply!" Unimpressed, Shikoba asks for something less materialistic. Villuen drawing from the pouch yet again, pulls out a rabbit's foot. Shikoba also notices the purple glow on the second pull, but seems more disgusted at the foot than intrigued by the glow.
"I'm sorry Druid, I know it is of your nature to care for all life of nature, but this foot is actually a gift. I have carried it with me for luck for as long as I can remember, but that is a story for another day. Please do not lot this dissuade you from helping me save my sister!"
The party has now been formed. After a night's sleep at the inn, the party gathers around to set off on it's first step of, at the time unknowingly, a long adventure to saving the world.
Along the path to the goblin camps, Villuen stopped the group near where the kidnapping occurred. "This abandoned tower is where my sister and I were riding out a storm. We were transporting some fresh water in these barrels for storage when goblins came and attacked. I was able to get away, but my sister was not so lucky."
While Villuen was explaining, Sira had noticed some goblins in the distance. Before they knew it, the party was overrun by goblins. Six in total had ambushed, equipped with knives and bows, but the party was unfazed. Poised with acid sprays, fire, arrows, scythes and a monks fury, the party quickly slain the goblins. One by one they had fallen, barely able to put up a fight. Weirdly enough, one of the goblins struck by fire had a mysterious reaction. Even though the fire had dissipated, the goblin was sparking. The party searched his body and came across two vials of a mysterious fluid.
Shikoba quickly grabbed one of the vials and drank it. Soon after he had started to vomit and felt ill. The actions were unexplainable, but this must be a prelude of what to expect through the journey. So here the party sits amongst a campfire, waiting out the night, with a vial of this mysterious fluid in hand, as well as the spoils of combat.
300 experience earned for each member, as well as a total of 25 gold pieces, a potion of Cure Light Wounds (that has also been consumed by Shikoba), and a Masterwork Studded Leather Armor piece.
Please, use this time to talk amongst the campfire with each other or Villuen, rest, prepare your days spells, or some other basic actions talked about here. When the campaign starts again, consider yourself fully healed.
Edit: 4PM EST really means 4PM EST. I will not text you guys about an earlier session this time, even with my excitement <3
