Obama is re-elected

Notice how after the election, no one cares to discuss anymore. /bored of this subject

I"m actually more than a little disappointed about the outcome of the election, but I have no desire to have a protracted debate. I'll see how things go. If things are improved over the next four years, I'll be willing to re-examine some of my politcal positions.

For now, I just needed a reminder that it's not the end of the world.

I am quite relieved by the outcome of the election. It was a tightly run race. I strongly feel anyone who had to serve as our president during the last four years would have had a similar track record for progress, if not worse than Obama, considering the mountain of 'sludge' that was inherited in 2008. But, as an independent, I have always considered all candidates, regardless of party affiliation, and voted for the persons that I felt best represented my ideals, and country.

Granted, anyone who would wish to run for such positions, I have great admiration for because I feel it is a no-win situation when it comes to satisfying the public as a whole.

Yes, the world still turns. It will even after Dec. 21, 2012. :)

May our country continue to unify, strengthen and prosper, despite our differences of opinion. I am proud to be an American citizen, and am grateful for our freedom to actually debate without fear of persecution.

Woohoo! Virtually no movement in the government! The house, the senate, and the White House remain pretty much the same (in regards to party control and what not). Hopefully everyone can get off the partisan train and compromise this time. We can raise taxes AND cut back on entitlements in a smart manner so long as everyone's willing to work together.

Also, I'm surprised that no one mentioned Colorado and Washington's passage of state laws legalizing the recreational use of marijuana. There's definitely a joke in that somewhere.

You mean that's awesome right Chez?

Also the fact that Maryland and Maine upheld the same-sex marriage law and Minnesota stopped the proposed ban. <--Definitely awesome.

Dan's gunna be so happy now. He and Gyoin can finally be open and married. <3

Yes, it will be interesting to watch Colorado as all the pot heads come out into the open. And promptly get arrested by federal agents.

I don't give the pro-marijuana laws long to live. The courts are usually pretty quick to strike down conflicts between state and national government.

Come to SoCal Keleynal.

It's still technically illegal, and no one really gives a damn.

I feel like the only reason the feds would do anything (more) in Colorado is to make a point of some kind, which everyone would promptly forget about.
