LIVE Pen and Paper Old School D&D... Any interest in playing?

Looks like I'll be DMing, then. More tutorials soon; my girlfriend's dad just made a surprise visit after a thousand-mile motorcycle trip.

I might need to make a new thread besides this interest-gathering one with a roster and all the tutorials compiled at the beginning instead of buried on p4.

I was planning on making another thread on Monday to do that, but it might be good to consolidate this weekend. I'll try to get to it after I come back from dinner.

If you are good to DM let me know what times/days are good for you so we can get a sign up sheet going. I don't want this to interfere with the stuff you already got going on.
 
The only thing I would add, especially for you guys who are new to RPGs (because a couple of you seem worried), is to remember that it is not a competition. There is no winning or losing. Characters die, and it's not a huge deal. The whole point is to tell a good story and have fun with your friends. The DM/GM/Storyteller is not out to defeat you, he/she's there to make sure everyone's having fun and to create a story for you to be involved in.

You know its creepy how much our brains work in parallel Bruce. My character only sees combat as a way to gain loot and stuff to sell. He prefers to let others take the brunt and only go in with opportunistic attacks. I would love to be able to have situations where my guy could manipulate things to his advantage. Your character takes a different path and seems to be less self centered than mine though.

Also remmeber for new posts etc you can embed Google Excel Sheets.
 
Blah can I still join. All the interest has me intrigued. I am gonna need major help figuring out everything.
 
yes. we have about 4 so far plus Red Omen as DM. We can go up to 6. Also just look through the stuff Red posted in the link thread to get a basic feel of building a character. On the session day we will be walking through making a character so everyone can build one then and there or refine what they put together before hand. I am building a rogue, Gyoin will probably go wizard Mr. Boston is talking barbarian tank and Zakis is talking cleric. Really anything is open for ya to play at this point, although a healer would probably go good.
 
Count me in too! Keep in mind I'm just as if not more clueless than Tristan is on anything D&D... actually been curious to learn more about it for a while (not to mention that NOT knowing makes part of a minority at my work...o_O).
 
you both should go sign up in the thread for the 14th that way you can lock in spots and we can have our first group set!
