Pathfinder - TAB Edition!

ToxicAsF

Over Analystical Extreme Gambler
So, myself and a few other guildies have been playing an online D&D game within the Pathfinder rule set. Recently we lost a few members and would like to open an invitation for others to join us! We just finished our first heavy dungeon / battle experience so now is the perfect time to jump in!

Experience is not required, we are willing to teach if you are willing to learn! I'm only a little bit experienced myself, and this has definitely been a great experience for me test my wits against the GREAT DM Red Omen. We do have a couple rules that we do require though.

1. Active Webcam
2. Active Headset
3. roll20.net account
4. google hangout accessibility

We tend to play for about 3-4 hours every week (or at least aim for every week). We've been partial to Sunday evenings but have been open to other nights based on personal obligations, so we do ask for flexibility.

We also have used some custom rules to get over our lack of healer, so people can play whatever they would want! I would suggest playing a class that we do not already have at the moment though. Y'know, Variety and spice of life stuff :)

Current Players

Red Omen - DM
ThatOneGuy - Halfling Rogue
Mr.Boston - Human Ranger
Gyoin - Human Wizard

Please respond here if you are interested! And, if you already have a character in mind, please share!

Also, if you need to freshen up on the rule sets - http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/gettingStarted.html

We tried to keep it close to the core, but if you can convince Red to allow something, it'll be at his whim if he allows it or not :)

Edit: Also, we have been prone to cancellations in the past, so we have enacted the rule of if only 1 person is missing, we continue. If 2 or more, we postpone and try to schedule something sooner rather than later. Hopefully we will not have to enact this rule anymore :)

Note: We are currently level 3 and following a fast exp level gain.

Interested people are as follows.

I will add I sat in for a few sessions and it was quite enjoyable. Red is a good DM with lots of interesting story for everyone. Not my cup of tea really as I like more textual RP than talking RP, but they are not really that RP heavy and more combat centric from what i gathered. You can correct me if I am wrong.

But either way it is good times!

Interested, if you do it on the weekends or would consider playing after I get off work for a few hours I can make the rest happen.

Hmm, even though you did come into a VERY heavy combat session, I would like to see much more RP going on. It's a learning curve and a comfortability thing. Over time, groups tend to grow into RP. Combat is easier to handle. I expect things to get a little more RP heavy as we continue, but you're definitely not wrong :)[DOUBLEPOST=1374602271,1374602159][/DOUBLEPOST]
Sundays are easy peasy for me to make. I'm in.
Any idea on a character?

Would someone be a lamb and pm me class/race restrictions, the type of campaign, level and other pertinent information and ill start working on a background and character now (I have the time to do it)

I'll add this to the main post! We tried to keep it to the core rulebook for the most part, but there have been some exceptions to that. Make a good reasoning for it and Red Omen will most likely work with you to make it fit :) he's been really good with that actually. Wants it to be FUN and not just him telling us a story in his world.

Yeah... I'm just more looking for specifics, I actually play DnD a lot (3.5 ruleset though) I'm just making sure I can't be a warforged blackguard (jokes!) Or a half giant monk. And knowing the setting (forgotten realms, etc) will help me know where to make my background from. I guess mostly red omen would probably have to tell me.

Ahh, ok, I get it. We originally kept it to just tolkien style race set and core classes (no technology such as guns). We strayed a little bit with having a cat monk of some sort (still confused what race she was to this day), but like I said, if you can convince red then who am I to tell you not to :)

Catfolk is a 3.0 race. My friend plays a catfolk bard weretiger. Lol

Oh and I see that link is like a whole PHB. I got dis.

Out of curiosity are you using the DnD spell list or does path finder have dif/less spells/cantrips
As a wizard, I have infinite use of cantrips per day and limited level 1+ spells per day based on level and Int. Must be prepped daily and choose from what I have learned, rest, etc. to use them, which I believe follows 3.5 in a similar way. One of the other guys will most likely be able to tell you the difference between D&D and pathfinder. But Pathfinder seems to make it easier, yet expand on 3.5[DOUBLEPOST=1374603610,1374603556][/DOUBLEPOST]
sorry, every time i see anything that looks like DnD my inner munchkin come's out to play. you tend to get odd stuff when that happens.
Caroline just bought me Wild West Munchkin for my birthday :) Been sitting on the "BUY NOW" button for all the expansions for the original for a long as time.

I have cthulhu munchkin
I also have this one. Cultists ftw.

Also, Red Omen what's the player cap that you want? 5 or 6? If these two are ready and willing and good to go (seems like they both know wtf they're doing), I think we might just be good to go and schedule a day.

Red gifted me a wand mid-dungeon to make up for my relative lack of range, but also made sure that it was something I would want to save and to just spam the fuck out of it lol. Made for some fun fire shows so far, especially when Mind Controlled :)

I'm not hugely invested into meta-gaming this campaign/character, been trying to aim as more support / control. Our Ranger is a bit OP though.

But that does sound very fun. lol

I signed up for a roll20 account. And Evilcat that reminds me of the trick where you drop all your skill points into knowledge of the planes, roll knowledge check and get the dc 15 roll to know how to summon Pazuzu, then do a full alignment swing for him to grant you a wish...

I seriously just started to laugh as hard as possible thinking about chickens at work, and all the ways you can create a zelda-esque attack of chickens in D&D.
