Do you have any friends in the guild? If so, who?
None currently. Games are always more fun when played with friends, though...so I hope to make a few.

Main Character
Thyran Dappenfield

Character Name
Likely will also have: Ghalorin Eponomous and Mentair Temnari. I'm a sucker for alts... luckily ArenaNet seems to have a wonderful system where I can have useful alts without getting them to max level!

Race
Undecided...I'll probably end up with one of each, but I'm currently leaning toward Asura for my primary.

Profession(Class)
Thinking Mesmer, but also tossing around Ranger and Elementalist... Gonna have to play around a bit before I settle on a primary.

What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
I tend to play social/RP/PvE, but I'm really interested in WvW and could see myself sinking a lot of time into there. I got my start in tabletop and MUDs, so I definitely like RP. This all being said, my job can be very time-intensive, so I will likely be a relatively casual play, at least compared to a lot of power players that typically populate MMOs. I was encouraged to hear that your guild is more focused on fun and helping each other than in a particular style of play.

Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
Like I mentioned previously, I got my start in MUDs. The main offender here was Gemstone 3, which I played for at least 2 years and innumerable screens of descriptive text. I was also known to frequent multiple small MUDs, The Inquisition, and most recently Shadows of Isildur. Although none of these held the same magic as playing a limbless dwarven empath stumping around Elanthia...

In terms of MMOs:
- I originally played Dark Age of Camelot of about a year. I loved Realm v. Realm and became really nostalgic when I first saw video of WvW.
- Star Wars Galaxies (pre-nerf) for 2 years. Being able to play a Droid Engineer and fully level without combat such a great way of to encourage and allow good RP.
- Guild Wars for 686hrs on and off over the past 74months. Mostly Sin and Ranger.
- Champions Online for about 6 months. Not the best MMO I've played, but who could pass up the opportunity to play one-armed, peg-legged, sword-wielding, super hero surgeon named Mel Practice?!
- I trialed WoW for 1 month, but sadly could never get into it... Please keep reading though, I promise I'm still a good person! :)
- Order and Chaos Online (iOS) for 6months. This only half-counts, but it was nice to have a mobile MMO fix! Unfortunately there wasn't much to do in end-game after reaching 60...

Other online games (I promise I'll be less long-winded here):
- TF2 - 134hrs
- Battlefield 3 and Bad Company 2 - lots and lots
- Demon Souls and Dark Souls - hundreds of deaths
- Countless other games over the years

Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
I have been a member of many guilds in the past; namely in SWG, GW, and O&C. In my experience most guilds started out fun and active, but unfortunately deteriorate after about a month. This was usually due to inactivity, but more often from in-fighting among guild leaders and people forgetting to have fun. I have always gravitated towards helpful, casual guilds and whether or not I am accepted in your guild, I hope to find such a guild and enjoy playing with your members regardless.

How did you hear about the Guild?
I learned about the guild while searching for a guide on deciding which profession to play. I watched podcasts 7, 8, and 9 practically back-to-back. I appreciated that you not only touched on lots of important issues for each profession, but also messed around a lot and seemed to genuinely enjoy each other. I have since watched nearly all of the GW2 podcasts and they have really helped me survive the wait for launch day.

What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I am a very friendly person and genuinely enjoy meeting new people. I also bring a decent amount of skill, but more importantly am interested in becoming better while helping others to improve their skill as well. I am very easy to talk to and always willing to help out. So...yeah, hopefully I'll get a chance to meet everyone and let you learn all about me then!

Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
Yes. I would much rather dedicate my time and energy into one guild where I can form meaningful relationships than guild-hopping to be in the "best" guild.

Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I'm sure I could come up with more to say here...but I think that I've probably written a lot already, so I'll just end with this. I want to be honest in saying that I often have a busy schedule and would not always be able to commit to the game. It is just that to me, a game, and while I love the fun and the escape from the real world, my real life will always have to come first. Thank you very much for taking the time to read all of this! Whether you accept me or not, happy questing and I hope to have fun interactions with your guild for many memorable months to come.

PS I typed this out while waiting for launch and chose to start playing at midnight rather than proof reading. I'm sure you all understand! :)

If you are still around and interested as I kno wmany are in the game and not seeing the forums. Please post here.
