I like to play cards, and I figured I asked if anyone else here does too. It would be fun to host an AltTabMe Poker Night, maybe on Full Tilt or Pokerstars? Or do you know of a better site? You can play for free, but there are also options for cash games.

What do you think?
 
YES. Sadly most sites are kinda shitty now that real money transactions have become "illegal" in the US. I know you want to play for free chips, but that becomes a bigger factor than you think when it comes to program reliability. Host servers have shut down drastically all over the world because of it.

On that note, I used full tilt back in the day.
 
Oh wow, am I that out of the loop? I heard last year where Full Tilt and some other sites got in trouble, but didn't realize you could no longer do cash play on them in the US. Yes, I used to play at Full Tilt as well. Bummer. Well even just playing for fun somewhere would be nice, but I wasn't sure which sites are best for that. I'd like somewhere where you can do a private or invitation only table. I like Hold' Em, but would like a broader variety of games. 5-card, 7-card, Baseball, etc. Definitely we need to bring a few decks to the next meet up!

I grew up playing cards with my Dad, who is now 86 and in the early stages of dementia :(... so he doesn't play much anymore. But those weekend games were special. We would laugh and play for hours, all kinds of crazy poker games. He and my mom were also avid, but responsible, gamblers... so anything that involves chance, risk, loss/win potential, I'm game to try. My sister and I go to the Casino often, but I don't play cards there because it pisses me off when the guys go ALL IN every fk'n hand even if they don't have a hand. Plus, it usually requires more of my money than I'm willing to part with in an hour.
 
I'm a blackjack player when it comes to real money. When it comes to gambling with friends, I love poker. When it comes to playing a card game with friends, I play munchkin.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to play munchkin. Is there an online version? Or can we somehow play over cams?

Nah, the deck itself makes it not possible to play via webcam. Plus, there are a lot of different interpretations of the rules / certain cards, so online play isn't viable either. It's real decks IRL or bust. But on that note, I have the original deck and a c'thulu style deck. Rux has like... every deck/expansion in existence. They're awesome.

It won't have the same charm as in person though, only because of the cheating that goes into it. Cheating is encouraged, but if caught, penalties occur.
 
Steve Jackson, who made the game, is playing in this video. Also my nerd girl crush felicia day.



Also, if you like board games in general watch the rest of the table top videos cause there are some awesome games featured and you will want to go buy some after you see them. I got small world, and settlers of catan after watching this show.

Heh I actually have my own poker table, and host poker nights with my friends every friday night. Nothing big, just a $5 buy in, no buy ins after midnight. Pretty much just an excuse to get together, bullshit, and have some beers.

I made up my own poker game called Gay Bar, where all the boys are wild (jacks, kings) and no straights allowed. *snicker* Also, a variation is to let the QUEENS be considered wild as well. Inspired by all of my wonderful gay friends, so please do not take offense... it was meant in the spirit of fun :).
