Built this earlier this year. I wanted to do the whole Ikea Alex desk setup you see so much but I couldn't ever find the KARLBY top. It was always out of stock. So I bought a butcher block table top from Home depot and sanded it, stained it and sealed. Took about a week. Need to work on cable management.
