MMO PvP Server and Open World PvP Guidelines

Hell yes, dat feeling yo. My proudest moment of world pvp had to be on my mage in Tanaris. I came over this sand dune and there were 3 alliance questing together. They were escorting this turtle, Idk if you ever played WoW but this escort quest was from the very bottom of the map to the very top right hand side, a very long ways. Anyhow, I end up fighting all three, I charged in balls to the wall. I kill the Warlock first, this was before they had deathcoil, thank god other wise I might not have been able to do this. I then am against a warrior and a pally the warrior goes down and I see two more alliance running toward us to the left and I end up killing the pally and then sheep the incoming mage and I'm dueling another warrior. I kill the warrior just barely and resheep the mage and start to bandage. A rogue jumps me mid channel, I blink away and 3 shot this guy then turn to the mage open up on him and manage to kill him too. The Warlock and the warrior I had previously killed respawn and I end up killing them both again before booking it to an outcropping of rocks and hearthing back to gadgetztan. I will never forget that fight it was so crazy. Me on my boomkin and my friend on his holy paladin literally 2v10ing people in Eye of the storm during Wotlk was another highlight of my wow career.

I never played L2, from the sounds of it though I feel like you and I will get along great.

I still don't see how that gives you the advantage to take on three people at once and win, consistently. I'm confused.

I am not going to win constantly nor even 20% of the time in 2v1 and even less in 3vs1 now 1v1 maybe different I dunno if the pvp cc buff works in the open world.. well see I am just trying to work with the Data that I've gathered thus far Via U tube and blogs.
PvP in wild star has a huge chance to just be who ever gets the 1st CC off wins in the open world that is. If the CC armor buff works in the open world 2vs 1 should give me about 20% chance to over come one player before the CC charges on the armor drop off. 3v1 I will maybe habe a 5% to 10% chance of killing one player. and 1v1 should be about 50/50 if done right. Well see. I've gotten older sence my L2 days 29 is an old fart when it comes to gaming my reflexes are slow. picking who I should try to burn down vs cc has gotten to the point were I just skip the CC n try to either use Aoe dmg or try to buy time till I can get back up. :) Trust me I am not the lone wolf stalking his prey any more I understand were I fall short and that I will need to use numbers...doesn't mean I don't enjoy trying to 1vs3 :p

Damn hated that Quest... I usaly ended up wondering off.
I stay away from pvp servers cause I Rage when ever I get into fights when I have zero chance of even coming close to beating my foe.
STV Rogues...20 lvls higher then me and stun locking me yup cuase fighting a one sided match is fun n all lol.

Yeah I never did play a rogue, I vowed I never would after being camped by tryhards. Now I kinda wanna try a stealthy type. The stalker looks pretty bad ass in WS. I have never played on a PvE server in my life. World pvp is just too much fun.

This thread seems to be getting derailed. Could we stick to discussions of world PvP and PvP servers instead of discussing our opinions about other peoples' playstyles?

I'm a fan of the PvP server since any additional content (yes world PvP is content!) is always a plus! I also think one of the dev interviews mentioned that they don't have world objectives yet, but they hinted it was something they would be implementing over the course of the game's early life.

but you know players tend to make their own content on pvp servers :)
I think it will be nice to play on a pvp server again ...some reason all this pvp talk has made me hungry

My first exposure to MMOs was on a PvP server. I didn't know any better, and I had a blast. I loved having to look over my shoulder whenever I was in a I was in a contested zone. Later, when I rolled a toon on a PvE server, it just felt boring.

I was Alliance for 95% of my WoW career. My favorite place to raid in open world was Stranglethorn Vale. I'd kill the lowbies and let them get their mains. Then my friends would come and we'd kill their mains. Then THEIR friends would come and kill us. Then we'd go farm some Netherdrake rep.

WoW was my first mmo and I rolled on a pve server first without knowing better. Lasted 8 levels then moved to pvp. Never been back, I love pvp even though I have gotten ganked plenty.

Its addicting man. Once you start on it you are hooked and you cant stop it. To me it is the ultimate form of PvP with warplots or something similar requiring intense, strategic, gameplay coming in a close second. I think its the ability to immerse yourself in the world and completely dictate how the battles play out as players. No timer, no CTF, no arenas. Just whatever is out there in the environment, your skills and the battle buddy next to you.

I loved doing Pre-made AV's with teams and strats and it worked SO WELL SO OFTEN!! Made it lots of fun!

You know how you win AV? You just sit at Drek until they come to kill him. Then you lose. But it made for 7 minute matches and large boosts of exp while leveling. Oh, and bonus honor. Can't have losers feel like they didn't earn anything.

I miss old school AV. Where the battle raged forever.

I liked AV because it had PvE elements mixed in. I liked running around and capturing resource nodes, like the mines and stuff. I didn't stay with the gorup much and avoided combat.

I share with you the power of facepalm :)
