Razulian

The Mad Scientist
Name
Ilhan (pronounced as ill-han, odd name for a Belgian person I know)

Age (must be 18+)
16, there's more to me than you think. Just because I'm 16 doesn't mean that I'm immature.

Do you have any friends in the guild? If so, who?
None actually

Main Character
Razulian (coincidentally there's an NPC in WoW with the same name, no idea how that's possible)

Character Name
Razulian (if it's not available I'll have to find another one, but I have a feeling it will be).

Race
Human

Profession(Class)
Guardian

What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
All of the above, but I'll go a bit more into detail.
From what I've seen from the BWE's, there was nothing I disliked (except for the fact that when you open a chest all the items are added directly into your inventory, that's just irritating...).
I didn't put much time into PvP or WvW though, I was rather exploring the world and sightseeing (it's normal to get goosebumps when you trigger a vista right? 'Cuz Divinity's Reach was beautiful).

Eating potato crisps while seeing the enraged champion cave troll annihilate everything at it's path was great (at the end I decided to gather some people and kill it anyway).
I also put some effort in gathering and crafting, I will definitely be doing this from the start when the game releases.

I should note that I didn't get into any dungeon because... well you can't do everything in 3 days if you like everything hehe.

Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
Silkroad Online ~2.5 years ; it's the first MMO I've ever played, I started playing it when it just came out and I had a pretty nice guild too. I had to stop playing because all the servers got full with botters.
Runescape ~2 years, I started playing this just after Silkroad.
RF Online ~2 months, got pretty boring after a while since there wasn't much to do anyway.
Archlord ~6 months; the advertisements at the time caught my eye, and then there also was a Belgian movie about a boy with Asperger's Syndrome (I also have it) and after watching it I just had to play it.

World of Warcraft ~5 years, flying over Azeroth and exploring every nook and cranny; dungeons and raids; the community; what not, I loved it all but in the end things just got seemingly boring.
I got into it when it just came out, but at that time my parents didn't allow me to play it (since it was pay to play).
The only way I got to play it was by fixing people's computers to earn some pocket money (I grew up with computers, as a kid I was always busy with trying to figure out how the electronics around my house worked; the interest is an attribute to my Syndrome. I put a lot of time and effort to get to know everything I know right now, I even read books. Atleast now I'm getting trough my school's tests and exams with ease, this way I have to study less and can play more. I'm aiming to study engineering at MIT (hopefully earning a Cum Laude) and then to work at Blizzard or ArenaNet as a programmer).

As for other online games, I like to play RTS games with other people.
Mainly Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Empire Earth and especially Rise of Nations (Thrones of Patriots)
Let's not forget those Total War games from Ubisoft, I play those too.
I'm playing some LoL too at this moment, but mostly Dota 2.

Oh, right, I also like to play shooters when I'm in the mood for it.
I'll just sum them up since I'm not that of a hardcore gamer,
I like to play Halo (Combat Evolved), I find it to be really fun and I never got bored of it.
Then there's Borderlands. Multiplayer and that game? Just epic.
Last but not least: Crysis 1 & 2 (I just love the storyline, the multiplayer in C2 is great)

And some other indie games like Magicka and Dungeon Defenders.

*sigh* I suddenly have the urge to add some singleplayer titles as well (ignore it if you want to):
Skyrim, there's no aregueing about how great this game is.
The Witcher (1&2), both are really good
Dirt 3, for when I need some speed.
Mass Effect,
And most of the Final Fantasy series (I grew up with those, I love the stories).

Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
I was part of a (atleast one if not multiple) guild in most of the games, especially in World of Warcraft.
The main reason of changing guilds was because some of them died.

An example of a guild I liked is the one that I joined when I just started playing Silkroad. At Christmas Eve we would go explore high level areas (you wouldn't believe how long it took to get to the level cap). We were mostly playing casually, but at some point some people started argueing with each other and a bit later the guild started dying, in the end I was the last person left. They were like a family to me and untill this day I still miss them.

When it comes to WoW, I was most of the time the officer who lead the Raids. I don't have any footage of it (I couldn't upload it at that time since uploading speeds in my neighbourhood aren't that good, so I didn't even take the time to record it... a stupid mistake of mine, atleast I've learnt something out of this mistake).
I also was the one responsible for our Teamspeak server (I had one running 24/7).

The main reason why I want to join this guild is that it reminds me of my old guilds (the ones I liked). And since everyone seems almost like a family, I don't think it'll die anytime soon.

How did you hear about the Guild?
Heard about the guild on Twitter, after a while on Facebook and later even on Youtube, then I decided to check on how I could apply.

What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I bring a new member to the family. I'm quite a fun person to have around, I like to talk with others and funny when it comes to it. Nobody has to censor anything either just because I'm 16 (I already know much more than I probably should at this age hehe).
I bring someone who's skilled with computers (I just say this for simplicity's sake, I would like to add more to this, but the app is already pretty long so I'll just skip this part, but again feel free to ask about it).

Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
Most likely (if I get to join that is). I don't see it dying anytime soon as described above. That's the main reason that counts for me, the second is that the guild definitely is fun. If I like my guild I almost feel like they're my own family, that's why I want to join.

Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
Like I said above I have Asperger's Syndrome, it's an autism spectrum disorder which means it has a different effect on everyone (with it's many advantages and disadvantages). It's the cause of me being more mature than others at my age, it's the reason why I can have a good laugh with older people and maybe even become friends with them. Most likely also the why people usually think that I'm about 19-20.

Hmm. This is kinda tricky for me. We are pretty serious about our age restrictions as there is a lot of material and conversations that are just not appropriate for a minor floating around. I actually like the application though. I'm going to leave this one to the other officers as I'm torn on the age and the actual quality of the person.

Hmm, you've got a point there, I guess I'll just stay active on the forums then (I'll also join the chat in a while so you people can get to know me a bit better). Anyway, I'm happy that you liked my application ^^

EDIT: I understand why you all are so serious about the age, as I've checked the guild roster and I see that there are even people who're double my age. But I'd atleast give it a chance and see if it does work out, I mean you can't be too sure before trying something out.

There are also some people triple your age. :)
I know lol, the oldest person was 56 right, or did I mishear it? (I was checking the videos on Youtube)
But I don't really care, as I see it age isn't really a viable prerequisite for gaming (I've played multiple GTA games when I was about 7-8, I did complete the games tough :p).

This is a really good app. Can you hang around the forums for a bit and get to know some of the members? Age IS a good prerequisite as much as it sounds contrived for a COMMUNITY. Has nothing to do with gaming. Has to do with life.

Anywhooo I am going to put you on Pre-Release Hold till we know you more.

We have decided to make our last batch of approvals from your activity prior to launch so you can get to know the members! Welcome Aboard! You are officially the youngest recruit!

Just make sure you stay active, but not too active to fall behind in school once September rolls around :p
