So, it is a new year... and since the world did not end in 2012, I am thinking 2013 should become the year of taking extraordinary risks.

I am not talking about tempting Fate (although Kismet IS Fate, and I am Kismet, and being tempted is something that happens to me on a daily basis, LOL). But, I have thought about trying some daring things, or taking chances that I otherwise may have not considered in the past.

It got me to wondering what the riskiest thing you have ever done may have been? It could be anything from going all in at the Casino, to jumping out of an airplane, going on a blind date, eating Taco Bell... lol, whatever. But do share!

If you are not much of a risk taker, then what would you dream about risking? Anything? Going back in time? Breaking in to a celebrity's house? Kissing your cousin? (eww ijs... but I won't judge you :)).

Let's hear it!

As for me, I am thinking about couch surfing. It is when you travel abroad or domestically and stay with total strangers. If you would like to know more, visit https://www.couchsurfing.org/. It helps to reduce the cost of travel and could possibly introduce you to some very interesting people around the world.

Me and Katie were going to be going to New Zealand but we had ticket troubles and ended up booking Mexico instead. A once in a lifetime place in Mexico so it is really exciting.

However I will say for our trip to New Zealand I think we both agreed that we prefer to be in a hotel than a hostel :)

If it isn't stressful enough to travel abroad I would rather be somewhere with my own bathroom and rules than in a strangers house. You save maybe a couple hundred bucks on food, but since this is a life experience money is not my worry. Enjoying it is my worry.

Anywhoooo we were going to Bungiee jump since it was invented there.

As for past crazy stunts adventures:

Those vids are cool Tristan, especially since you went with your Dad.

Honestly I am surprised by all the NO votes on the poll, but appreciate the honest feedback. I guess being a product of the 60's just makes me more open to communal living? LOL

To me it seems really adventurous, and the website I referenced actually has a background/referral system, so it seemed a bit more legit than just meeting someone on the street. I guess I'm overly trusting? But I do want to travel, and don't expect to be a millionaire (or hook up with one :p) any time soon. We will see what happens.

You and Katie have fun in Mexico!

Surprised me that I'm the only one that said yes.
Hey stranger! So good to see your post... not only because it is a YES, but because I've missed you! *hugs*
And, well, you and I always got along so I'm really not surprised you agree. I bet Apothekary would say yes too if he were around. I miss him as well. How is life treating ya? Send me an IM, let's catch up!

My wife and I skydived for our honeymoon. I've got a video of it laying around somewhere...

I think it's important to take risks. The alternative is a really boring life. That's not to say that you should take ALL risks or not consider the risk/reward tradeoff. But by all means, do something completely crazy.

I would couch surf with the caveat that I would not go alone and I would reserve the right to walk away if anything looked too suspicious (like a wall decorated with news articles about the police being baffled by serial killer).

Awesome skydiving...
Not for me, i don't think i could jump out of a perfectly good airplane.
