Anyone else remember the BLack Morass in WoW? It was in a swamp and all the toons waded through it. Except gnomes, they had to swim which made it pretty much impossible for them. Then they patched it and the gnomes could run- through water that was just at their eyeballs.
 


Look at the Mechari and Drakken in teh background in overalls and green shirts. So out of place IMO. This is why I can't get with the Mechari. They are only kick ass if they are all metal a'la Terminator walked through a fire mode.
 
It was fun, but throwing us in to 10 man raids when all they had before was 40 mans just fractured my raiding guild beyond repair.

Chess was super fun. The first week we got to it 2 officers and one random person went into it during the off hours and beat chess before anyone else could see it. The raid missed out on chess the first week we made it there lol.
 
Kara was such a well designed 10 man. I think it really shows that if you're going to do a 10 man raid, it can be done really well, but don't try and duplicate a 10/25 man. For the smaller guilds, it was awesome! Around that time I was playing with some good friends and others we picked up along the way. Having 10 competent people in kara was a good time. I guess the ideal is do both.. custom 10 and 40 mans :D Who doesn't like their cake and eating it too
 
The issues with kara was not the instance itself but the number of people it let in. you can gear 10 people. 10 + 10 =20, 10+10+10=30 . there is no way to run kara to gear a raid and not have people left out and feeling jilted when you hit the next level of content at 25 man's. people get sick of being benched and go find a guild who will take them and their friends go with and your back in kara re gearing people all over. it started a pattern of guild implosions until the severs average gear level got up to the 25 mans. all I'm saying is EVEN FRIGGEN NUMBERS. its not complicated.
This. I like that WS is doing a 20 and a 40 man. 40s will be hard to organize, but they were so fun to beat stuff with. I personally think 20 man raids are the perfect size with 5 and 10 man dungeons being the supplement.
