Hello Guild.

This forum thread is here for all interested in Guild Wars 2 Team Play. It will be open to all but geared towards those that want to take the sPvP aspect of the game to a more hardcore and serious level. If you are interested in this after reading this post then please:

- Post your in-game name
- Profession (main & alts in priority order)
- Times most available and online
- What you want to get out of joining Team Arcanix
- Anything you want to add

What is Team Arcanix:

Team ARX is just like any other team in any other sport...
- We will practice often: practice makes perfect as it goes.
- We will get very familiar with each of our play styles.
- We will get very familiar with the maps, game objectives, and other teams play styles
- We will work on good communication
- We will have fun
- We will kick some ass!

Once I get a good list of interested members. I will set up a meeting so that we can get everything in order and get the ball rolling.

FEAR THE PUSS!

- Strange

I'm interested, but time differences will be a definite problem for me. I can do weekday mornings (EST) and most times on Fridays or Saturdays (Sundays are my Monday morning!).

What do I want to get out of PvP? Enjoyment. I like making builds and testing them, then improving them. I've been excited to try out some group builds that work together. It's hard to go wrong.

I play the game aggressively, occasionally making a mistake when going for a kill, but I tend to play characters who are 'hilariously' hard to kill.

My Character names can be found in my Signature below, in order of profession experience:

I am very interested in being a part of this team. Timing will be an issue for me, but here is my approx availability.

Always available with notice:

Sun - before 1pm cst / after 6pm cst
Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri - after 9:30pm cst
Wed - between 2-5pm cst, after 7:30pm cst
Sat - after 6:30pm cst

Generally available:
Sun/Sat - all day
Mon - Fri - after 6pm cst

IGN: Daddy Bear
Main Profs: Mesmer, Necro, Thief, Ranger, Ele
Alt: War, Guardian, Engi

I plan on being able to run as much as I can with a fair amount of skill. My main focus will be on Mesmer Necro and thief(?). My play style focuses more on either ambushing with small groups, playing defensively, or working points. As much as I like the thought of being the #1 player in kill-count or score, I typically am not. What I am, though, is a very solid midline role cover with decent execution, excellent yomi (mind games), and a good support player.

I want to get experience out of this team, and also get to build some synergies with other players. There's nothing quite like making memorable moments with an assist kill, or being known for being annoying to play against!

What I would like to add is that I detest drama! I am not a stuck up player! I know what I know and I know what I don't know...

Main: Glad Komrad - Engineer
Alt1: River Lilly - Thief
Alt2: Brugmansia Insignis - Necromancer
Alt3: Mutwa Neeb - Elementalist
Alt4: ??

Anything later than 9pm EST is best for me. As for what I want to get out of joining Team Arcanix..., I thought hookers, strippers, and cocaine was a given. Now I'm not sure.

sPvP Main: Nirav - Thief
PvE (Getting into sPvP) Main: Spadix - Engineer
PvX Alt: Volfire - Elementalist
PvX Alt: Aariz - Warrior

I am currently in the EST (-05:00 GMT) timezone and I am available during weekends and weekdays (excluding Monday & Friday) from 4:00PM - 10:30PM) and 7:00PM - 10:30PM on Monday and Friday.

I want to gain an enjoyable yet competitive sPvP experience in GW2 with a skilled group of fellow guild mates. I also look forward to learning more and more about each different profession by playing against them and maybe even playing as them. I consider myself to be more of an Offensive Point Man, always running around trying to backdoor and capture a point and going in to help my allies when things get out of hand.

Main: Bella Sunderclaw - Warrior (So far I've only played it offensively)

Alts:
Enmity - Ranger (Took it to 80 first but I'm not sure how much I'll actually be playing it)
Bëlial - Engineer (I've hardly touched engineer but hear good things about them in pvp)

In-game: Rafiki Something (been alt coding Kong)

Toons (no real priority as I enjoy and play them all, if I had to choose then probably the Guardian as a main):
Guardian (I prefer the supportive / defensive style of Guardians, you can see my build here http://gw2skills.net/editor/en/?fUA...akQQsHaUGtRXFcIA;TsAgzCto2xsjYH7Oudk7s2YsxOEA)
Warrior
Necromancer
Thief (just started messing around with this class, so still getting the hang of things)
I'm trying to eventually get a good grasp on each profession, either way I will play whatever the group needs.

My days / times are completely random, basically I'll be available any day / time just tell me when to log on.

- Triage
- Mesmer / Guardian
- After 6pm and weekends
- Melted Faces
- I am not super serious but when on an organized team I am, and I will rage, and yell at you for doing shit wrong, so please don't take is as just a super amped version of me who is happy about life but wants you to be better lol

- Weergaloos
- Warrior
- After 6pm and weekends
- Winning
- Experience in structured PvP in DAoC (8v8) with a lot of roaming style play, as well as CS:Source competitive play in college. I never got into WoW arenas beyond S1 because I'm just not into grinding gear in order to be competitive (a major reason why GW2 sPVP appeals to me, its all about skill). I've enjoyed PUGing with a few guildies thus far, but if we got serious about running on a regular basis I'm totally down for practicing, strategizing, learning a seperate class if needed, etc. I'm a big proponent about everyone playing their role and not trying to play in a style that ultimately weakens the team overall. So if you have to guard a node and that's your role, it would be very dissapointing seeing you try to push elsewhere on a map for instance. But yea, count me in :)

-Characters i pvp with and have developed pvp builds with:
Daren Blackspire
-Warrior-
Night Mask
-Thief-
Vardiic Ravenborn
-Gaurdian-
- I am usually available durning the night on weekdays. I just started school so thats subject to change but i will let people know if i cant make a scheduled time. On the weekends im usually available during the afternoon, and Sun im available all day.
- I enjoy the feeling of a good pvp match and knowing your skills made a difference in the match. I have been playing SPvP alot since launch and a decent amount of PuG tourneys. But more and more tourneys are getting organized. Im frusterated with the group i fight on vent and minmaxed everyone on their team to be near unstoppable, because PuG groups lack organization and roles that augment eachother. Needless to say Warrior are still "hammer to the face goodness that just pwns", Thieves are still "Heartseeker spam till your dead OH GOD MY SPLEEN!"

Curious, I haven't really been on much lately (RL stuff ftl). Any updates to this? Seems like we have a decent amount of people, and good class variety, with some willing / able to play multiple classes.

I am working on putting everyone's info together. Just keep the word out about this thread and try to get some more interested ARX members on here. It would be really nice to have at least 12-15 people on this team with room for growth later on. This would allow us to be flexible and more competitive. Keep an eye and ear on this thread and in mumble for updates. I will set up a meeting within the week.

Roster name: Nahku

Main sPvP character: Nohku Bergdis - Guardian
Alt sPvP Character: Nahku - Ranger

Times: after ~7pm EST weekdays, weekends

What I want to get out of it: Fun. Smash faces. Fine-tune my spec, skills, and reactionary abilities. Annoy the shit out of my opponents by making myself and my team unkillable.

(edit: I mistakingly thought this was a "casual" team. I'm not touting any awesomeness, I just sPvP to have fun, so feel free to slot me as a backup and not a full member)

Roster and Character name: Fingal

Times: Weekdays evening and weekends

Looking to have some fun doing sPvP, I'm not looking to be extremely competitive.

In Game Name: Cub - Guardian
I don't know any of my other characters well enough to use in PvP atm, but eventually I will have all professions available to play with, I wanted to get one character to 80 before trying the other professions.

Best times: 10pm or later (on erratically throughout the day as well)

I would love to learn more about PvP, I've never really liked it in other games, but having tried it in GW2, I love how it works and I seem to be fairly good (at least in my own eyes, lol)

I'm really excited to actually learn properly how to pvp!

Roster Name: Tribune

Main sPvP char: Tribune Drakepounce (Guardian)
Possible alts: Tribune Wraithwind (Thief), Tribune Ikki (Necro)

Times: After 5pm EST weekdays, sometimes all day Weekends.

All blue bubbles, all the time. I'm looking to be organized, skilled and somewhat competitive, without taking things TOO seriously. Sense of humor = fun. At the same time, I'm willing to read up and practice practice to fine tune my skills and build.

Also this x100: :D
Annoy the shit out of my opponents by making myself and my team unkillable.

Roster name: Lokapala

sPvP char: Shaerna Stormcaller (elementalist)
Possible alts: Maeve Farraday (mesmer) or Imre Forger (thief)

Times: unfortunately I live in the future of GMT+4, so on most days I can be online 11 am - 3 pm EST or from 11 pm EST onwards.

First things first, I want to learn how to PvP in GW2, and THEN to learn all the best ways to crush our enemies, drive them before us and hear of their QQ lamentations later.
Oh and I dream of making a convincingly tanky elementalist :D

I don't mind chatting in-between games, but I'd like it if we would focus on winning the rest of the match when the tournaments are going. I know it makes a huge difference if everyone asks themselves the following question before they talk in a semi-serious game, "Does what I'm about to say help us win this current game?"
Stuff like "man I just got owned," "they are going to win," "I just crit for 3 thousand!" "My ranger sucks, I should change classes" are example of things that do not help us win the current game. It's also the case that you'll often play the way you practice, so if we distinguish from practice tournaments and serious ones, I think the practice ones should also follow good communication guidelines. Of course playing on random teams on a pick up game can't be considered serious.
