Stress Relievers.

Alright, I've been a giant ball of stress due to a lot of different things going in my life lately, and then it got me thinking. What do people to do relieve their stress? I've for years done breathing exercises in basic forms of meditation (Breathe in through the nose until you can't anymore, then release through the mouth while imaging that all the positive auras enter you body and the negative ones leave. It's worked WONDERS prior to nerve wracking situations such as interviews and such).

But today, I heard this on the radio. I love this song. The second it started, I felt my tension drop. And I wanted to share it with you all here. I don't know why, it just makes me feel better. The pain in my chest started to reduce the second it started.

Boating. For some reason being out on the water erases all my worries. Went out on my friend's boat finally last weekend and it erased about 6 months of stress. Felt good.

Man, went deep sea fishing a few weeks ago. 9 hours on a boat, 7.5 hours of it sea sick. Pass :p

I'm on a boat and... its going fast and...

Sometimes when I'm stressed out I just turn on talledega nights or anchorman or stepbrothers and lay on the floor with my doberman and just chill out for a bit. Works for me pretty well if something is bothering me.

Yeah, inland waterways. :alien7: Open ocean can get a little nauseating.

Rainymood is a good one, but frankly...video games hahaha.. If I don't feel like doing anything and I am really stressed its music. Music has helped me through some rough times imo. I had a musical epiphany a while back. I was stuck in a shitty situation with no avenues to release anger. I was so stressed video games weren't even doing it for me and I was smoking again. I was listening to strictly metal, hard rock, etc. Nothing against those genres and I love them but then I stumbled upon some Liquid Drum and Bass. I found it relaxing to the point that I did a lot of thinking about stuff and ultimately made the best of my situation(and started listening to all kinds of good electronic music).

Sounds kinda cheesy but its true.

Stuff like this:

Agreed, music takes me away and liquid dub/dnb is great for that... especially now that I have some decent headphones. Can just throw on a mindless game and crank up the tunes and zone out fora while. Love it.

A strenuous activity outdoors does it for me. A huge rock scramble or climb will clear me up. That is my meditation. I don't meditate by telling myself to breath, I do it by forcing myself to :)

I just turn off the world, no tv, no internet, I make sure I don't have to be anywhere for however long and I go read or build something or whatever that requires no thought or interaction with anyone or anything that I don't specifically choose. I turn off the caring about anything else for that small window of time.

Put on a cloak and mask and become a vigilante, unleashing your stress upon those who would threaten the innocent.

That or just fap raw 4-5 times until the stress is gone and/or you are starting to bleed from your mini-me.

Or both. Become the Raw Avenger. Or maybe Captain Fapity. The Monkey Spanker? You get the point.

1) Turn off all electronics and just live as yourself for a day (maybe saturday or a day not at work).
2) Read a paperback book (not on a screen).
3) Exercise. It might take a bit to get into but I find 10-20 minutes AFTER the strenuous activity is done...I feel great! There is also measurable progress for the achievement whore in you ;)
4) All the sleep.

PvP is my best stress release. Nothing beats coming home after an annoying day of work like logging in and killing shit! I get to deal with people all day so thinking that one of them could be the players im slaying is satisfying even if I know the odds are against that being true.

One day you're going to kill somebody and when the police search your computer, this quote will be used to enforce strict video game laws.
