Do you have any friends in the guild? If so, who?
Is elmo in your guild? He always says he's my friend. Still can't be sure if I can trust that squeaky voice though..

What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
Usually I like to focus on PvE, although the structure of the game leads me to believe I would have fun as a ranged/support role if I could find a group of guildies who like to work together in PvP.
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
The main one was World of Warcraft. I played from about 3 months after it went live until just after Cataclysm and hitting 85. I got burnt out and quit in early 2011.
Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
I have been a member of a few guilds, but only two I would consider main ones. The first main one was competitive enough to finish the content in vanilla but not be considered hard core. I still keep in touch with about 10 of the people from that guild. Being a 40 man guild going into BC with 10 and 15 man Kharazan it pretty much fell apart.
The second main guild I was in was very competitive on our server usually ranked in the top 5 clearing all of the Litch King content. I was even the number one ranked death knight in the world for about 9 days on Festergut 10 man, which I am proud of. I was also the 2nd person in the guild to get Shadowmourne and the only one of 4 who stayed in the guild once getting it. Once Cataclysm came out most of the core of the raiders got burnt out and we fell apart.
For the last year-ish in this guild I tried to fight burn out by writing a blog about my experiences. Feel free to check it out to get a better glimpse of my personality, although my girlfriend tells me that my voice on the blog is much more "polished" than in real life. Probably because I had the chance to re-write each post about 8 times before I posted them. Bear in mind that during the time I was writing that blog my focus was on competing for server first spots on boss kills and making lots and lots of gold. Those were the only 2 things I had left in the game that I could enjoy. GW2 is going to be a whole different animal.

What I really liked about each of the guilds that I have spent a good amount of time in is the relationships I have been able to build and things I have been able to achieve with a group, as an individual, and through the help of guildies.
How did you hear about the Guild?
The podcast linked on guildwars2guru.com I clicked on it expecting to skip to a few points I wanted to hear your take on and ended up listening/watching the whole thing. That lead me to the website and reading about your ideas of what makes a good guild.
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I do engage on vent/ts when doing group events like raids, and usually try to be interactive in the guild. I hope to find a guild where I can continue my experience of building friendships that last outside of the time I spend in the game.
I sense a kindred spirit in Gyoin in that I love crafting and reading up/preparing ahead of time to have a game plan going in.
I also love the gold making sub game of mmo's and like to focus a portion of my time playing the auction house. I also use my AH trading skills to augment my maxing of crafting professions and vice versa. I usually end up being the go to guy for people trying to make some in game gold because I am free with my strategies to anyone who asks for help.
I was a gold millionaire in WoW as early as the burning crusade, and first on my server to max out jewelcrafting with every recipe. I have made around 10 million gold in D3 and so far about $10 in real money, but I am getting a better handle on the RMAH side of things so I expect more soon
Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
yes
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I have done the hard core thing and got burned out on it. The fact that "the game is the endgame" as stated in the podcast is what is really drawing me to GW2. I plan on enjoying the whole game and not focusing on getting to endgame.
I enjoy actually achieving things that are not easy to do, be it getting every recipe, earning 1 million gold (or helping others do the same), or finding all the hidden cool things that the devs put in.
One thing of note is that I live in America and since I work graveyards I usually play at night. This led me to play on Oceanic time based servers and I have made some strong friendships in Australia. Three of those friends I have even met up with and had beers with when they came to the states.
I will most likely still be playing late at night an on weekends but if accepted, expect me to be a solid presence in game and on the forums.
