RP GAMES The Resistance (beta 1.712)

I am okay with this game ending, i know i did what i had to do and am looking forwards towards leading a new team to victory!
 
As a spy, all I had to do was make sure no one had any concrete idea who the others spies were and let statistics do the rest. The idea that I could be one side or the other was a perfect position to be in. Not only could I give good advice 'in character' for resistance, that same advice would be mistrusted despite being good.

It didn't matter to me what side a player was actually on - my status as 'obvious spy suspect' meant that everyone had to question every judgement I made, which would lead to reverse psychology and make them second-guess themselves. I had to play my role as hard as possible, never admitting one thing or another to anyone. This game works on trust and deductive reasoning. If no one was sure of identity of anyone else, there could be no information given to the resistance on the identity of the other spies - every spy could be a perfect actor.

If I was forced to pick other spies I'd have chosen Dainjire, Kel and maybe Psionic, but I never made a commitment to any of them actually being spies because I wasn't sure - and I didn't need to be. Apologies to Thief and Otakebi for my vitriolic attacks.

Why Dainjre? He admitted it and could've made my life a lot more difficult.
Why Kel? A long conversation with me was pretty convincing, but I couldn't be sure as he was colluding with Gyoin but never mentioned it.
Why Psionic? The bit where he was suddenly quiet after being discovered, plus the PMs he sent to me. When I posted our PMs I omitted quite a bit of it, and he didn't comment.

Let's see if I'm right.

Not a spy, sorry. I set myself up so that you'd believe I was a spy, and then tell the other people who you thought were spies that I was a spy, so I'd have information on them. Which you gave me. No hard feelings right? -brucethumbsup-
 
Heh, you'd could've made the game SO much worse for me if that was the case. You SHOULD have. It was a bad play as you were extremely inactive on the main threads after that mission, making you look like a spy to everyone else. You played a spy very well though, so Kudos.

Of course, that meant there was a spy I didn't know about in the other six, which made the likelihood of me winning that much higher.
 
What's this? Kiss and tell time? I don't think I've seen the game over from Jia yet. I don't trust any so called confessions until the info comes from him.

In the meantime, it looks like Dire is still full of it, but I think dainjre being flushed out as a true Resistance member was sincere. So that makes 2 of us Dire was wrong about, but I think he is spot on with Psionic. And thanks for giving me someone to trust.

By all means, get Sas online for the final vote then XD[DOUBLEPOST=1378360605,1378360559][/DOUBLEPOST]Until then, the intent to conclude the game has been stated and we are no further on than when we went on break from the game.
 
Even though I'm "OK" with a draw, it's still a bummer. Many of us put a lot of effort into this. I think the group was just too large.
 
I'll get around to wrapping it up (which will include revealing each players' roles) after work.
I'll do the usual questionnaire (what did you like, what didn't you like, what could be improved, would you play this game again, etc.), so if you're eager to give feedback on the game itself, you'll have plenty of opportunity once I've set up the appropriate thread for it!

I always believed the worst case scenario is that Dire and I would be spies, but unable to trust each other.

It seems I was proven correct. We spent a LOT of energy maneuvering around each other rather than working together. I have some suggestions for the next version of this game with lots of players.
 
And I did exactly the same thing with Kel...unfortunately I enjoy these paranoid situations where you have no idea whether to trust me or not ;)
 
I had a strong feeling the entire game that fox and dire were spies. But beyond that I knew nothing.
 
If I was right about Thief and either Baldo or Sasq being spies along with Dire and Psionic, then Resistance could very well have won; provided Thief's team was voted down. My team would have been Me, Gyoin, OneWhoRuns, dainjre, and Otakebi. We'll find out from Jia if that would have done the trick.
