Version 1 of new site design

The news page is the home page for me on the site. I read the chat logs and refresh for new posts on there. It looks prettier with the pictures and video posts than the forum splash page.

TLDR: Yes.

Why would that be TLDR? lol Anyway I changed it back because I agree functionality and *normality* wise it makes sense. But I am going to be re-hauling that front page to make more sense with what we are going for here. Almost like a breakdown of all teh cool shit happening on the site instead of a single scroll down of news.
 
Ya, I use that when I first load up the site in case there are more than 4 new posts, but as I obsessively hit the refresh button all night long I just keep it on the front page so I can keep up with the chat box too. Also the officer chat shows up in the new posts box but not in the link you put up. Actually belial yells at us every time we post in the officer forum cause then there is only 3 or less posts in the new post box for him.

Good call, fixed now it won't show in either :)
 
I do like dark backgrounds as well. In my office at work, the site looked fine since I'm in cubicle/fluorescent hell, but at home in my dark office it was pretty blinding. Would be interesting to see how the current theme looked inverted.

.... really? REALLY?

Not really fair to do a straight inversion in photoshop. I merely meant the background, not the area with posts, message text, modules, etc.

I'm fine with it either way, I like the new artwork... just giving feedback
 
Inversion looks good, but its TOO dark! I would prefer this to that. Also I like this version.

Come on you know how I talk by now lol. Anyway I like the contrast on the white better, it gives it better depth.

Would love to hear what you guys LOVE about the new design too! It helps me feel good lol. Like did you see the mini stories in the battle?
