Obviously all we have are reactions to go off. But who remembers sportsworld where you could pay 100 bucks and get hooked into VR for 10 minutes and fight blocky pixels.

Wonder how this compares.

That was very convincing. I'd definitely put down money right now for that if it was out. Now I just have to wait for it to actually come out.

ANYONE REMEMBER THIS BITTY?

My only concern is that it could be so immersive that you miss out on important RL stuff. Like your room is on fire.

I'll definitely scrape some money together to get this once the retail version is out (I was staring at the website's dev kit pre-order page a few weeks ago until I finally came to my senses). The only thing I'm worried about is that I'll probably need to upgrade my PC along with it.

But wow, the flying bit in the video - I get a tingly feeling just trying to imagine what it must be like!

On a side note, I wonder how effective extended "flying" would be for reducing a person's fear of heights? We're just looking at it from a gamer's perspective, but I can picture all types of uses popping up for this thing - and yes, once the porn industry finds interest in this, it'll certainly accelerate the development for this type of technology.

Or just about any non-visual, non-audio sensory input coming from outside. Just imagine how cut off you'll be if you're wearing a headset as well - and then someone walks into your room and taps you on your shoulder while you're playing Amnesia (with beefed up graphics).

Luckily these guys will be making enough money to afford good lawyers, because I'm sure people are going to attempt to sue them for injuring themselves, others, pets and furniture while wearing this thing.
It'll certainly be the cause for many bizarre headlines, ^^

As long as we have SOA by the time I retire, I'm a happy man. If we have it before I retire, I'm retiring.

It is truly the summer of Gyoin's life, however as soon as SOA comes out Gyoin will go into hibernation for a long winter.
