Heard about it from Ludakrit
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
Ill help bring some lulz, good pvp, optimization, and good times?
Will Arcanix be the only guild you join? yes
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I am 27 yrs old, CJ major, long time gamer, sarcasm king beware especially when i am a bit intoxicated >.>

Yeah, I've never fully understood what a criminal justice major actually entailed. I know a lot of people that have degrees in it, but I know of no one that actually uses it in their career... But I guess I should blame the economy on that (just like everything else?).

One thing I'd like to ask you is how do you and Ludakrit know each other? Gaming? An old guild? Real Life? (Help yourself Ludakrit and tell us about your guys interactions too since he's using you as his voucher :p)

And more for curiosity on my end, how can you bring "Optimization" to the guild? Can you expand on that one a little?

Honestly you dont. A criminal justice career is pretty pointless these days unfortunately. I would get paid a few pennies more if I had a degree, not worth it. Im still set on figuring out a way to continue towards a Computer Animation or Game design degree and get out of Corrections. This shit sucks imo lol. Sorry for being so encouraging.

ya sorry I did not really clarify on that, Optimization as in Theorycrafting builds/skills etc. The CJ degree will help get me a position with my local law enforcement agency. You are right on the fact that most careers it doesn't really provide much outside law enforcement career fields. I know LudaKrit from a RL friend of mine, they served on the same ship together, been online bros since >.>

IMO switch degrees while you still can :p Most law enforcement agents stay in until retirement or forced out. That's just a terrible job market in this country. If it's a passion, then the best of luck to ya for it.

+1 on my end. Hopefully he can sell his gold to feed himself when the law enforcement job doesn't pan out :p <3

Thanks for clarifying for Gyo. I meant so far from what I have seen they don't even matter much IN law enforcement careers. This is just from what I know and the agencies around here in NY.
+1

I was originally going to do game design, but its just so competitive and unstable, have a friend with a degree in game design from UAT, usually bounces from employed to unemployment, granted that is just one person's experience. I met a couple of buddies who were in my local law enforcement agency and they talked me into it.

From the gaming people I know, at least he became employed. That's another incredibly difficult market to crack into. That's why I went into the Accounting and Finance field. Even that took me a couple years before I could fully get a career in my field. Now I'm making decent money (soon to make better money) and will be able to start that whole family shebang. That's where my mentality was when I was going to school.

I'm not trying to persuade a guy I just met on a forum an hour ago to change his life plan.... But it's nice to get different perspectives, right? :)

haha, I hear ya gyoin, but from what I have seen with these guys, they live pretty good with good job stability. I dont need much: food, booze and internet good to go! lulz.

Yeah, I'm glad I don't live the single life anymore or that's exactly how I'd act too haha

Oh yeah its definitely stable. You'd have to seriously fuck up to get fired and there is a process to get rid of you after probation period, so its not something where they can just say here is a pink slip. I make a good amount of money for what I do, or might have to do rather. The game thing is more of where I would be happy. I thought I would like law enforcement, and generally I do but the place I work at is just insane. I'm tired of the lack of any sort of camaraderie, extreme amount of corruption/injustice with the administration/local government I work in, and the extreme boredom of my job. At least I would be happy working on games.

I babysit scumbags, plain and simple, the small county jail I work at is like a daycare/resort for criminals. They have more rights then officers do nowadays. Its disgusting honestly. At work we like to call it the hug-a-thug, kindler, gentler jail. It makes me want to hurl. And I am ranting and rambling...sorry lol.

Zakis, is it like that episode of American Dad?!?! DO YOU PLAY KICKBALL WITH THE INMATES?!

I wish I could play kickball...with their heads sometimes. The stories of some of the old timers make me a bit jealous sometimes. Nowadays when they start acting like assholes you lock them in their cells and do paperwork and they continue to be assholes. Back then you took them off the block, gave em a bit of a thrashing and they behaved for a few months.

haha, no doubt on the game thing it would be fun, but like I said earlier if it was not as unstable as it is, I would be all for it. But with any job there will always be TFG and bullshit, Like Denis Leary said "Life Sucks, get a helmet." haha.
