What's new

What knowledge I have gathered so far.

Honestly, I do have a lot of criticism towards the game's current state, but I still believe Maxis knows what they are doing and will fix it. It was certainly released too early, but I've been waiting 10 years for this game, so I might as well wait a while longer.

The real important thing, to me, is that the developers, regardless of the community's opinion, truly care about the work they have done:

This isn't just a means to make money for most of the developers. They do care about the product they are creating. There have been some really major short-comings, but I think it'll even out in the end. Its certainly not the first poor release of a game that I've seen. FFXIV was worse, but as with Maxis, the developers care deeply about the work they created. From launch they have poured their souls into creating a new game for the players. The developers interact with the community, they make transparent posts about their updates and plans, and they are very near a relaunch to a game I've been waiting for since FFXI.

Sure, I'm disappointed in the product as it stands, but I believe it can be something much greater than it currently is. I'm a harsh a critic as anyone else, but I believe that if the people working on the project care about the work they are creating, things will improve and we will get the game we've been waiting for.

Also, I've seen a lot of claims that Maxis lied, but not a whole lot of hard evidence.

I mean, does anyone remember what steam was like at release?
