Who is your favorite X-man

Eh we can just go with Nightcrawler's dad Azazel then, much more powers and better teleportation lol. Plus any teleporting will do me just fine :)

Cyclops in Ultimate X-Men. WAY cooler.

He gets into a fight with Wolverine, and, seeing that the Canucklehead is about to take a swing, he just fucking unleashes. It was fucking badass.

Agreed. I could never like the guy no matter how much I tried. I've always hated the ones who forcibly try to keep the 'boy scout'. There are only 2 that I think of that it comes naturally (Captain America and The Flash) who are likable.

Go read the Ultimate Comics, he dropped the whole Boy Scout thing when he realised it wasn't doing him any favours.

He's not my favourite, but I don't hate him like I used to during the 90's cartoon (which was awesome).

Cyclops is no boyscout. Boy Scouts are useful.

I could never get over it. And yes, X-men the animated series is amazeballs.

Edit: as an aside I tend to hold grudges a long time.
 
There was a whole SLEW of things wrong with the Ultimate X-Men series that undermines that scene with Cyclops, though. Ultimate Universe in general is not my thing, have you seen Ultimate Deadpool? I mean, jeeze.

I read the first book or so of Ultimate X-Men and then got bored.

I own the entire run of Ultimate Spider-Man. Absolutely loved it. I also love the "new" Spider-Man Ultimate Comics. Up until they killed off Spider-Man. The new Spider-Man is super lame.

Well cyclops has taken a real turn away from boy scout in the last year or so. After the new phoenix incident. Hes way more in line with magnetos old way of thinking.

To be honest I haven't quite read the new stuff yet. I just can't like the guy, I don't even like his powers.

no hes not trying to kill off humans, he is just done trying to save them over saving the mutant species. His number one goal is protecting mutants and everything / everyone else is side dressing.

I'll have to go re-read those issues.
I didn't follow Cyclops' X-Men books as closely as the Wolverine ones (Wolverine as a Headmaster was just too good, and the arts better imo) but I could have sworn he went batshit crazy and beast had to bring the past x-men back to kick the shit out of him and teach him how to be a leader again, after he went all mutanto terroristo in some cities in Cali.

That is pretty accurate, but not because he wants to kill off humans. Just cause he wants to preserve the mutant race, and because he is being hunted as a terrorist, and because all the phoenix 5 (cyclops, white queen, collosus, magic, and namor) have their powers misfiring and being all wonky after the phoenix left them. So now hes all like magneto was way back when saying protect all mutants and train them for the fight that is sure to come.
