Heh, I did say I would do a write-up for PAX, but not gonna lie, I really didn't get to TRY that many games. More or less, I watched many videos, listened to a lot of speeches, and networked more than I did play. Eventually I'll get around to an "experience" write-up, but don't expect any huge in-depth reviews about specific games, but more of my adventure as a PAX newbie. If anything, I have learned more about how to work for this site more than I have about any games haha.

Good I am planning to pick my vacation next year to hit PAX and whatever else may come around to promote the site, network and write up impressions and reviews.

I actually got into the press area for ESO and was able to give out my cards, but sadly there were no developers or writers available for an interview at that moment. So... Yeah. I learned some fun new tricks this weekend :)

Good hope you are going to at least PAX next year. More people on the floor equals more coverage no? Anyway I look forward to your write-up.

Yeah, but I'll need a better hotel. That alone ruined my experience over the course of the weekend =/
 
Gyoin, what did the business cards you had made up look like? Did it just say AltTabMe.com on them? Or was there more info? I was at my hair salon the other day and the girl cutting my hair and I started talking about gaming, so I told her about the site. It would be cool to get some cards made up to pass out whenever/wherever... not just at conventions.

PS - Can't wait to read your write up and see some pics! Sorry your hotel sucked.

I had Tristan design them. They're pretty much our logo at the top of the site, a nice catch phrase, and I added Gyoin to the bottom right of it. I should've added an email address to it for when I was handing my card to developers, but it worked very well when giving the card to potential members.

We also had a special promo code when registering that could be entered if they talked to Gyoin that grants them a special achievement. We didn't want to write it on the card because it keeps with the personal nature of the community!

Very cool!
I would be happy to order some if you can tell me how/where Tristan. I like our nickname on the card too because it helps create that personal connection and they already have a friend to look for when they visit the site.
 
I made them at staples after he mailed me the template. Something like 40 bucks for 250 of them. Ended up making 250 of each set...
 
Bruce you should have put the phonetic pronunciation of your name after "Gyoin" so you don't end up getting called GOY-N forever. *chuckle*
 
I would put That 1 Guy [T1G] on mine.

Kismet should have Kismet on the bottom left and "Death Becomes Her" on the bottom right.

Nah, I contemplated a long time about even adding the Gyoin at all, or just adding Bruce Casassa, or Gyoin (Moderator/Officer), or a bunch of different things.

Next batch I make I'll use Gyoin (Officer) with an email attached when discussing with game devs, and non-contact info for guild recruitment.

Good call. That reminds me, I need another email address for just beta invites and the like.
 
Sounds like a pretty awesome weekend. Definitely looking forward to reading all about it. WTB promo code. We can work somethign out. I'm a good sport. :alien7:

I've also tried to recruit people to the site. I need to get me some of that sweet swag from the giftshop.

I've never thought about how to pronounce "Gyoin." I guess I just considered it synonymous with "epic beard."
 
Pretty excited about Wildstar. Never knew how much I'd miss raiding and the trinity classes until GW2. I was pretty sketchy putting all my hopes into EQ3, so now I've got two games for late this year with epic expectations.
