Great Tuesday night raid. Exactly what I expected and hoped for on the first raid night of the week. Sweep the first floor. Great Morale boost.
I wanted to take a moment to discuss my frustrations during the raid. I was intermittently experiencing screen freezes for 5+ seconds. Also during Kuralak, I was rotating around the boss at an acceptable pace and not getting too close to the AoE under her feet, yet my game would show me dead randomly without touching a laser. My movement felt delayed and during this period, there was no freezing or lagginess, but rather my character was randomly jumping around and teleporting. It felt like there was a latency problem.
I know the fights. I watched the videos and I've made mistakes and corrected them. I feel confident to last the whole fight and not die to mechanics at this point. That's why it was so frustrating last night to be dying within a minute of the fight because of the impact it has on the other 19 people in the raid. So I stepped out.
I checked my ping on ping test and my ms is low like 10-30ms ... 0% packet loss... internet speeds are decent. I started monitoring my CPU usage and noticed it spiking to 100% intermittently. I ran a few virus scans and it caught a few PuP's which were quarantined and detained and it appeared that the CPU stopped spiking. I will be continuing to address the problem until I no longer have freezes or latency spikes.
I just want it to be known that I did not blow the fight on easy mechanics, but was hindered by lag/latency
Moving forward, I hope to god this won't happen again.
P.S - I will also make sure to do a mic check 1, 2, 1, 2 before Kuralak.
