ZOINKS! Loved the book by Max Brooks. Obviously its Hollywood so there will be deviation from said book. I guess we will have to wait and see how it pans out. Brad Pitt is a great actor though so pew pew.
 
Honestly it doesn't remind of any of the stories in the book. And the only thing saw reminiscent of the book was the bit where all the zombies stupidly piled on top of eachother and eventually it works to their advantage and they make it over the wall.
 
Argh! It's those fuckin' fast zombies, that's the worst scenario!
 
Yeah, its already pretty clear this movie is going to butcher the book and make the usual zombie movie mistakes. I really had high hopes for this one too, so disappointing :(

I am going to see it anyway in the hope that there is some small shred of the book left. They might totally be touting it as sort of an offshoot, like a story in said time period during the events the book recounts.
 
The only sliver of hope the guys over at PWOT have been able to squeeze from that atrocity of a trailer is that perhaps Pitt's character will be a re-imagined Redeker. Somehow. Other than that, I don't really see how Pitt's character could be the world's only hope. Or any one character, really. That's like the exact opposite of what WWZ was about, it was about humanity working together as a whole, slowing the advance, establishing a front (or many fronts, each country's got a different one) and then reconquering the planet piece by piece.

It's really weird but when I saw him in the trailer I thought about Redeker, something about Brad Pitt's face to me screams "racist South African."
