You can be BANNED in #H1Z1 for #Duping, isn't this an Alpha where you find bugs and report?

Although I do wonder, how the fuck someone gets banned for finding a bug in an ALPHA(which is the point of alpha find a bug, report it, and they fix it), but hey.... ya never know.

Anyway this is good for people to read.

Keep us updated if they ever respond. I doubt they will but I agree 100%. Find these bugs and figure it all out before the game actually launches. I'd expect a complete wipe of all characters prior to the game being released with any money spent on drops being added to your account for use on the actual game.

The problem with their pay to play ALPHA method is that people are buying the game not even reading the "alpha" word. They expect to pay for something and get a working product. So the lines are blurred and SOE's lack of transparency on systems etc to help us test and ALPHA TEST properly will hold it back. I hope they can figure that out quickly.

This is why Alpha and Beta are bullshit words these days.

We are alpha testers and as such we should have in our knowledge what little changes are they doing to the available mechanics. That way, we can give feedback on what needs improvement in a more exact way without being too vague.

For instance ACTUAL patch notes released by them not a player: http://www.reddit.com/r/h1z1/comments/2th1d2/h1z1_unofficial_patch_notes_2015012120150123_out/

If the devs really follow through on bans on their game mechanic/server side scripts which is down to them to fix over the people happily playing with the games offsets and flying around the map or teleporting behind people every shot they fire, I will lose a lot of respect for them. IMO they should get themselves a nice clean fix for dupes since after all this is alpha and everyone is paying to stress test your game, wipe all the servers and ask everyone to break it again. As much as I hate all the dupes in the game currently I feel it's a needed process to a good release and they shouldn't be punishing the players for such especially in ALPHA testing (Isn't that what it's for?)

I feel like if I really tried to break a server and it was successful I'd be banned rather than thanked for finding such a major issue, this is the wrong perspective the devs are taking.

SoE at its finest. Sorry to hear that guys. I think you all should keep trying to improve the game regardless though.

It's sad that they are treating a testing phase as a live one, everything that's been found they should say GG guys you got us, we'll fix it then you guys break it again. Atm I feel if I was to play with some server sided functions/scripts they'd just auto ban me from logs rather than try work out what I was doing, so if I can crash your server right now I would hope to god I can't do that in 6 months time, would you thank me for it or ban me? I am not doing it maliciously I am doing it all in the name of Alpha and to bring a good release.

#banINC - on a side note if I do get banned for what I'm doing I would have to have a long hard think about returning to such a 'test'

I understand the difference between hacking and duping. In an Alpha I still can't see how you permaban anyone. If you maybe give them a few days ban I could understand that.

From the company's stand point I'd be much more interested in talking with the person that was able to hack in and see if they'd be willing to work with the company to fix things. Now if there is malicious intent behind that then the company can take action that they feel appropriate.

I've sent in many reports now, including many hacking methods currently being used, the offsets for each, the way people are using item ESP/Teleport/Flyhack and freezing health values, this has been the only alpha I've ever been scared to help in because of previous posts.

well, it seems to me like a little bit less of a flip flop on rules again and more of a warning to stop doing it if you know how to. Just report it and play as intended.

The fact that there is now so much loot in the world makes it not nessicary to play the game now. I personally will stop using the reset game on death glitch also. I kinda figure they will be lumping that in with the duping logs.

Exactly this, I was mid reply when I saw yours pop up. What I took from the post was that they want us to find them, figure them out, report them, then move on. Not make it an integral part of our day to day gameplay like it has become.

Also, the fact that they gave us a WARNING as opposed to just BAM "banned for duping, btw we are doing this now" makes me feel like they really don't want to ban people. They are giving them fair warning now that this is coming up.
