I also played WoW, but this isn't my first MMO since. Played lots o' shiet before swapping to WS.

Same.

Wow was fun but became a bit dead for me, been trying a ridiculous amount of f2p mmos to fill them time. waiting on Wildstar, Blade & soul and FF XIV ARR, ofc wildstar's gonna be my main game :)

I was -not- impressed with the beta for FF XIV, it feels like an old generation game with updated graphics. It's visually stunning, and triggers my nostalgia, but a big name and good graphics don't make a good game, they seemed to not grasp that.

Really? hmm didn't try the beta, but was under the impression they reworked alot of crap for the re-release. i'll push my friend to buy it so i can test it out haha

having no sound also :)

Very interesting link, ill have a proper read in a bit.

Uh oh, lets not start an Android vs IPhone debate haha. I have played many MMOs between WoW and this, however I do feel this to be my first REAL MMO since WoW. I haven't been able to settle down, and I do feel WoW set the standard pretty high in a lot of ways. It really comes down to their focus on the elder game content, as well as the community for me (since these are key for a long term commitment, at least for me). So yeah, not my first since WoW, but if we were to equate this to girlfriends, it's the first girl that's ever made me really start to forget about WoW (my only real long term MMO relationship)

I am in the same exact position. During my 8 year love story with WoW I've had my "promenades" with other MMOs (warhammer online, SWOTOR, GW2, GW1, DaoC, AoC, RIFT), but in none of these games have I ever reached or felt the emotions I had when killing Ragnaros or Nefarian the first time. Nor did hitting top level in any other MMOs feel as rewarding has hitting 60 on my first ugly half arsed newbie orc warrior!
I don't know, MMOs come and go, but WoW will always have a place in my gamer heart, and I really REALLY hope wildstar will achieve that same result.
On that note, the fact that they (Carbine) are not afraid of stating that Wildstar will both punish you with a hammer of death and wipes till no end when you make mistakes makes me believe that this will be like WoW (or EQ before it to a greater extent), in that every small achievement will make you feel succesful because you will recognize and appreciate the reward. MMORPGs are all about sacrifing time and patience for results, and I think all MMOs (even WoW nowadays :( ) have really lost their way to appease a far moar casual (no insult intended) crowd.

Why did that sound so romantic?

Well I guess I have to say i come from GW2, but it really seemed like a big let down from WoW. I have alwayz considered myself really from WoW, cause I havent had as much fun in any other game I have played since I left WoW at the end of cata. Even as bad as that expac was.

Heal, Heal, Heal, through the damage that you Deal, Deal, Deal.

Hey I'll survive by the power of the Light, cuz Ima Paladin if I try I win.

Tankadin FTW!!!!

After reading this thrice, I now understand what you were saying. I found GW2 to be a large disappointment as well, even went back to WoW for a bit, before realizing that that had gone downhill as well.

haha, yea sry I tend to be kinda random and broad sometimes, when I could really go on forever. I tend to just try to cover everything I want to say in a short few words, and then it dont make sense.

As many have allready stated, WoW is the only MMO that has captured me and made me play over a long period of time, I have tried allmost every new mmo out there, rift-tsw-tera-gw2-aion-nw and so forth, but all of them have failed to keep my interest for a long period of time. The thing now however is I feel that Wildstar suits me perfectly because of the childish artstyle ( Im a sucker for childishness ) and the new combat. Really hope it may bring some real action pvp to the table, then Ill stay for a long time! /rowsdowser

I've never stuck with an mmo for more than 6 months. I guess the last mmo that I played for more than a month would be GW2, which I stopped playing in April. I played Defiance for 1 week (about 50 hours) and got bored, tried Tera and didn't like it (I really didni't give that game a chance - played for about 2 hours). I've most recently been playing Marvel Heroes, which has its flaws, but is still kind of fun (not a traditional mmorpg). And I re-subbed to SWTOR last month. I forgot how much fun Huttball can be!

The more I hear about Wildstar, the more I want to play! Warplots sound like a lot of fun. And I've never played an mmo with housing options, so that will be interesting :eek:mg:
