Pipe-smoking!

Ok, so I play clarinet and saxophone. That's cool and all, but it means I can't afford to smoke over the lungs.
I need to save them for actual healthy air! ;)
So I decided to start smoking pipe, wich you don't smoke over your lungs!
I really do like the looks of it and it is tasty as hell.
The chicks don't really apreaciate it, but hey screw them! IYKWIM
Soooo, the point of it all: Any pipe-smoking fella's or gals around here ?
And if so, got any tips for this rookie?

I have always thought Pipes and Cigars smell and look cool but I have never used a Pipe before nor did I know it was different smoking? Thought smoking was pretty much the same.
 
I almost jumped on the pipe wagon, but the girlfriend complained..

I've always tried to get into cigars, but my knowledge was always subpar and I think I've just always chose poor beginners cigars and never learned proper graduation from sweet to bold and spicy.

Now all forms of smoking tends to make me sick =/ But I will say this. Pipe smoking with something kinda fruity in it (no jokes please) would probably be what I'd be aiming for next.

Ahh, I remember the last time I smoked from a hookah. It had a WONDERFUL raspberry tinge to it. That's exactly what I was kinda hoping for with a pipe if I try it, that wonderful aroma and taste with a bit less vapor.

Yeah I'm pretty sure most of the harshness is taken out of the smoke from the water it goes through, or I can be completely wrong. Anyway, onwards with the pipes!

Honestly its just something you have to play around with to learn, but that might help to at least get the idea.

Make an O with your mouth, and then push the smoke out with your tongue. It's pretty damn easy, you just have to practice getting a decent thickness of smoke to make it look alright. As far as pipes go, I've never really been a fan, though I own a sweet painted russian pipe (straight from the mother land, too) but I haven't used it, as I feel a prerequisite to pipe smoking is having a sweet beard. American Spirits are my go-to for tobacco until my face wants to get on board with the beard plan.
 
My problem is smoking is smoking for me. One leads to the other the other leads to one. So either I smoke or I don't :)
