Minecraft AltTabMe Minecraft Server

Personally dont have space engineers ( and tbh probably won't get it) but I will always get a craving to play minecraft if there is enough interest.
 
That is note than enough interest for me haha. Question is vanilla or tekkit. I never really sat down an figured out the tekkit server last time. Wouldn't mind doing it this time but I am cool either way.

Server is about 8 bucks a month. I'll look into firing one up this week.

Tekkit has without question so much more potential and room to explore than the regular version of minecraft and it has been a long time since I've explored it so I would not have a problem and would probably prefer a tekkit server.
 
I'll look into it when I get out of work. If anyone else has experience setting up a dedicated tekkit server through a host lemme know.

I´ve set up a tekkit server on my PC before. Was not so difficult, so I guess Hosts will let you pick which options to turn on and off.
 
I'll spend probably 30 minutes on a server. Enough to get wood, make a pick axe, get cobblestone, upgrade pick axe, find iron, upgrade pick axe, then dig in tunnels endlessly and eventually get bored.

I'm too uncreative-imaginative to build things, I literally just end up making a box house that has a bed and a couple chests for my mining stuffs and that's it lol.
 
this is why i like mods like tekkit. if you dont feel like building something creative, you just build a fortified base and attack those around you.

See, I think it'd be fun if we have some kind of event of a bunch of people getting on a server, then doing a "Battle Royale" kinda of mentiality, all prepare for a battle to the death. Last one alive wins haha

But even that I would probably end up on WS anyways, so I'll keep off the non-constructive additions to the thread

See I like these things too and its unfortunate because It doesnt happen that often or nobody truely goes through with it and sticks it out. Like you said, you build your house and you are done and that seems to be a common experience.

Tekkit at least beings more to the table in things you can create and machines that can make things.

And atomic reactors. That you can forget to restock with water. Then boom.
 
Corvus has constantly suggested just that. He's a pain and never gets on the forum. He enjoys building like most people but he wanted to have weekends where we loaded up a map and Duke It out, etc.

Server is up and paid for two months at the moment. Don't go too crazy just yet if you are around as I am going to try to get tekkit running. Main post has been updated with info and I will do so once I have it running smoothly.
 
I feel like I could be doing something wrong, but it says it can't connect to the server. Not sure where to put port number.
