Regions don't link. Cities within regions do.Interesting, but we should be able to have a bunch of linked regions no?
Maybe dunno. Gonna ask in the interview.I thought I remembered reading that the number of cities in a region or cluster can vary some depending on the topography and so forth.
Yeah, my understanding is that cities within clusters directly effect each other by trading/buying/selling goods and have immediate environmental and financial impact on each other. Cities effect cities in other clusters by potentially allowing pollution to float over or come across in the water table (probably). They also have impact financially and could have Sims move out to better living conditions or have criminals taking road trips. Regionally, the cities indirectly interact via the Global Market, but pollution, crime, and more micro-economic concerns don't bleed into other regions.Regions don't link. Cities within regions do.
My understanding is that cities effect each other directly and immediately within a section (or cluster as I called it). They can effect each other economically, environmentally, and through crime.Okay, I'm lost...
A region has the potential for 16 cities. Each city affects its neighboring cities (within the region) both directly and indirectly.
But what about these four sections? Do they somehow change that dynamic? Does pollution only affect cities within a section instead of the entire region? And if some of the effects that your city has on other cites is limited to your section, which effects have an impact on the entire region?
It sounds like we are mixing terms.Ok it looks like there are 4 regions in each city which would DIRECTLY influence each other, etc. Unsure if this is the limit or not. It also looks like they are linked to other regions by road/highway. The question is what level of interaction does this allow. Is it simply for disgruntled Sims to move to someone else's region, or is trade allowed to some extent?
I get what Zakis is referring to though - if you look at the screenshot in Tristan's post, you see yellow- and teal-colored lines that appear to be heading out of the region. I'm assuming they're roads and railroads, connecting the cities/sections in the region, and also symbolizing the interaction (i.e. Global Market) with other regions by "leaving" your region.
Exactly Jia. I am hoping we can have some sort of trading options between regions.
There will be with Global Trade, but neighboring regions don't define that.
Thats unfortunate. Apparantly we just have connecting roads for vacationing Sims.
Per 16 person region. The connecting roads in that region are for the 16 cities.
Don't worry Zakis, you can be our region's trade mogul. Those mangoes don't cross the state line unless you say so!
