I once had a dwarf character that lived in a hill beneath a huuuuuuge tree that was perceived to be the "world's life" by locals. He was very shaman-y and hung out in the tree quite a bit.
I am absolutely horrendous with naming things. I tend to do a random generator, and that gives influence or a feel, then I move from there. I'll start with one thing, and then it somewhat transforms. Y'know, you start with
Door
then it moves to
Bore
Then it moves to
Bare
Then it moves to
Bane
etc. etc.
So it's a process until I come up with something that 1. doesn't suck, and 2. isn't a direct copy of anything else that I know of.
