I kinda feel really bad for you guys who are REALLY trying and getting really frustrated... If I was trying that hard to play ATM (I'm not because RL) I'd be just as pissed I guess.... I'd say.. Give it more time? I mean its not like it's a race right?
 
I forgot to mention that when launch happens they are going to take the limiters off the servers and let more people on each one. I wouldn't be surprised if they created a few more servers to meet the initial demand. In any case I do believe they were talking about the option to world transfer too (saw it on one of the live letters). I'd assume for maybe a week it would be free too, but that isn't going to be until at least 2 weeks after the 27th.
 
If they open up free transfers to deal with the overpopulation, I'll consider it.

But Gilgamesh has been the server since Beta Phase 3. And we've known it was the Reddit server for a while. If you had an objection, maybe you should have spoken up sooner?

How is that bad advice? It won't work right now because the server are unavailable. That should be obvious to anyone with a brain. But when the servers are active, keep trying. It WILL work. It just takes patience. Also, make your character's appearance on a different server, and save the data. That way, you can just load that data, choose a class, and be ready to go when the NA/EU servers are available again.

I don't understand people's expectations of fault-free launches. They occur once in a blue moon. Launch week is pretty much always hit-and-miss. Think about it this way: By having these issues now, come Tuesday, they should be totally ironed out.

So relax. Go play some Torchlight 2 or Hearthstone or something.

They're also going to lift the server restrictions come launch day.

How am I being an ass? I can't play right now either? Am I losing my shit over it? No. Because its a fucking game, dude. I played exactly ONE game at launch that had no problems. RIFT. WoW had problems with instability and bugged quests and giant queues. GW2 had overflow problems and broken WvW and lag. And quests that just DID NOT work. SWTOR had its own laundry list of problems.

So I'm not freaking out about it. As for playing 'another closed beta', all I did was mention two games that popped into my head. One of which is a fantastic game you can get at a good price, and the other is in closed beta (which I am not in), so excuse me if I failed to give examples that perfectly solved your problem.

What I was getting at with mentioning the server transfer is that people who cant play with us create characters elsewhere then xfer over when the option is available. I started playing with some friends on ultros but at launch when the limiters come off the servers we are all going to be on gilgamesh full time. I've been on that server since the 3rd beta weekend as well and I'm not going to set up shop elsewhere.

I will also say how frustrating SE is making me over the server issues though. Honestly I expected some issues but even after multiple maintenance they cant get their shit together, basically they suck at MMOing haha. I'll still play, because the novelty of a FF MMO appeals to me and I actually enjoy the main storyline quite a bit. All in all I am less than satisfied and hopefully the servers can stay up without issue sooner than later.

Evilcat. I don't know what you want me to say dude. Does it suck? Definitely. Am I unhappy that I can't play in my free time right now? Yes. Could they do better? Of course. Should they provide recompense for failing to provide a service to the paying customer? Probably. Am I going to waste my time and energy getting mad about it? No.

Because getting mad will solve nothing unless action follows it. And I'm not in a position to action change, unfortunately.

Gilgamesh is the TAB server. It was discussed ages ago.

End of story.
 
Like I said before, if they implement free transfers to deal with the population issues, I'll consider switching. But only if everyone agrees to switch.

I can agree with this statement... happens all the time. Typing can be bad for generating misunderstanding or interpretations or someone's demeanor or attitude. Heck that goes for any social media and text messaging. Hope I haven't come across as angry or anything, I'm always pretty chill and laid back individual.
 
I'll go where you guys go. It's not hard to level and I'm not completely invested in my character. If we stay cool if we decide to move later cool too. I'm not happy with my early access experience, but I'm content with what little I have gotten to play the game and am satisfied that this will hold my interest for a long while or at least until wildstar releases.
