Google Glass Invite down the drain... :(

So I had found a backer for Google Glass. Developers and Markerters were interested in helping pay so they could get hands on time. Well I got the invite to go pick it up and they said they no longer were interested....

So here is how I felt BEFORE I found out and went to go pay:

This is how I felt after:

On a serious note: Any developers out there interested in a working relationship... 12 days to pay before I lose my explorer status. If you know anyone interested in working together for marketing purposes, development, or otherwise: PLEASE get back to me ASAP. Thanks!

I think it's crap that they are so expensive even to try them out. I put my name in for a pair myself but will probably end up in the same boat when/if I get an invite to buy.

You had to be selected. I got an invite out of the 8000 people in the worlllllddddddddd.

I want to play with this thing so badly. If you find a backer I'm coming to check it out haha

If I didn't have lots of other expenses this year I would try to help back your google glass experiment. I was looking forward to watching you pee.

Haha me too T1G. The backing part not whatever Tristan fetish you have. Worst timing ever for this though, with the condo n all.

I'm so jealous right now, not even being a tester for an iron man suit would fix this... well actually it would, just trying to express myself here.
Ontopic! Damn it looks nice on you! :D

Glass is one of those things that could fundamentally change everything, like smartphones have done. Or be completely rejected, like that thing I can't remember, cuz it was rejected.

The concept is extremely cool, so I hope it's practical.

It can be rejected and it already changed the way things will be going forward. They proved a theory. And now people want to see what else can be done.

While occulus rift and Google glass will change the face of computing, the 3d printer now that has entered the mass consciousness will change the world like computers and internet did when they came out.

Hmm what could change the face of almost everything? I know: utility dust!
Imagine floating, holographic like screens, exoskeletons, telekinesis-ish stuff,...
Everyone knows about Prototype (yes, the game), I was thinking about nanites (nanobots) that do the same thing.

I'm still waiting for the flying cars and holographic displays here...

Flying cars will never happen and I hope they don't either. What will happen though is space flights to get across the globe quickly. 1 hour flights across the globe is in the future.

They won't happen in "The Jetsons"-way, I mean would you feel safe when tons of idiots are flying over your house? I wouldn't. People already can't drive properly with normal cars. Next to that you'd have the "taking off" problem, not enough room and objects in your way = danger.
Yet, there IS another option that I like:

It's a new type of aircraft, based on small radio controlled multicopters. A German company is now being sponsored by the European Union for this idea, pretty cool imo. Did I say that it's electronic? :p

I think more likely we will see magnetic vehicles that hover and drive themselves, but I agree people could not handle flying

I could see flying cars when the autopilot technology is perfected and actual driving is taken away from people. They already have programs that auto drive groups of cars in a lane and can react to traffic.

Also nano tech is getting closer and closer. They just made a battery that is small as a grain of rice and holds as much charge as a small lithium battery. This will be a huge step forward in small tech like cameras in glasses, and robotic insects and much more. Most of the really small electronics are hindered by batteries that are 2 and 3 times the size of the whole build.
