IF YOU FINE BETTER FOR CHEAPER, LET ME KNOW.

Hey guys, as some of you know I will be traveling for business quite a bit for a while. I am looking for a new laptop to fuel my gaming need and stay on top of guild activities. I am also quite terrible at this whole specs thing, so I am looking for buying suggestions.

First and foremost, I need it to be able to run GW2. Doesn't have to run it at max settings, I can run it on the lowest end as long as I get decent FPS. Also looking for a 17+ inch screen if possible, I don't really care too much for small laptops.

Normally I would start looking around, but I have so much shit to do for work my time is limited. Also want to try to purchase it by tomorrow night so I can have it shipped to me ASAP. I might be on a business trip on Monday again and I want to have podcast capabilities.

Price Range - 1500, but preferably cheaper. I would prefer to upgrade my desktop, as having this laptop would hinder me from doing so. But it will be nice to have both a laptop and desktop for convenience on laptop and power on desktop. Hence why I don't need a super machine laptop as it won't be my primary gaming system.

Thanks again guys! You'll be doing me a huge favor.

Thanks guys, keep them coming. Newegg is definitely a nice place for me since I have preferred / bill me later setups.

I like ASUS much better than MSI as a company, but just personal preference.

Origin PC also makes some beast laptops for decent price. They were founded by the guys that created Alienware (and left it after Dell gouged the prices and made it cheesy). I bought my last pre-built system from them (got lazy), and it was very good build quality. They have awesome support as well, should you need it. http://originpc.com/

ASUS Pros - More Storage (1TB vs. 750GB), Backlit Keys,
MSI Pros - Better GPU, CPU, Faster RAM frequencies, More USB 3.0 Ports, 4 Speakers (4 vs. 2)

Sounds like the MSI might be the winner in the first round of judging. If someone finds me a computer of similar specs for cheaper, let me know. Sorry if I'm ordering people around, but I literally was just put in charge of the accounting process of an entire branch in my company. Not bad for only being in the company 3 months, huh?

Asus: More storage (2x500gb)

MSI: Better graphics, better processor, higher freq RAM, lighter weight

edit: grats on the job upgrade :)
edit2: Yeah, what Brown said pretty much. MSI has better stats in that 1:1 comparison.

Yeah, and I can't believe it's almost half the weight of the ASUS too. 5.9 vs 9.4 lbs... dang. MSI is the clear winner there. I really like ASUS, but the MSI stomps all over the ASUS in this comparison.

Sweet, thanks guys. Hopefully I actually enjoy the feel of it tho. Unless someone can find me a better one I will probably order for two day shipment tomorrow.

Oh, MSI is 6-cell vs. 8-cell Lith ion in ASUS, will effect battery life a bit, but you'll likely be plugged in usually anyway. Not a deal-breaker, but I think we covered all the comparison fully now. :D

If ur going laptop then it should have a solid state drive. Makes for quick access! Like a girl wearing a skirt.

Nah I don't need a SSD in my laptop. I am looking for one on my desktop though. Remember, the laptop will not be my primary gaming device, so I don't need the highest specs possible, just enough to run GW2 well and handle my day to day :)

And yeah, I'm always plugged in on my laptops. lol

Oh, and plus this won't go to waste when I'm not traveling as much. This opens up two computers so Caroline can play too!

Tristan is still selling some of his SSDs still I think, just look out for sales on Newegg, Tigerdirect, or NCIX.
