I've made it a habit to keep tabs on foreign news providers as well, especially when I'm looking into a topic about my own country.

As a general rule, I think it's best to check 2-3 different sources when it comes to things that are actually important. Opinions aren't right or wrong, but hearing several of them can help gain perspective. I tend to disagree with whatever opinion I'm hearing at the time, and then form my own conclusions later.
