WE NEED MORE EVENTS! CONTRIBUTE TO THE LIST
One of the big things we wanted to have in this guild are events that are a bit outside of the normal realm of gameplay. These events can be just about anything you can think of! A mixture of adventure, competitions, shenanigans, and over-all just a fun time! The original plan was to make these events at 5PM EST on Wednesdays, but with all of our time zone differences we may have to adjust accordingly. I will keep updated information on what events we will be doing each week depending on everyone's interest with participating. Events with prizes may have buy-ins accordingly, or I may personally donate for the prize pool.
So, here is a starter list.
1. Scavenger Hunt
2. Massive Gathering Contest
3. Dueling Tournaments
4. Keg Fights!
5. Speed Trials on Jumping Puzzles
6. Best Screenshot Awards (Tr1age can judge this)
7. Best Dress-Up Contest (Tr1age can judge again)
8. Naked WvW Shenanigans!
SUGGESTIONS ARE ALWAYS APPRECIATED!
PRIZES - At first I will personally buy gems and award these for prizes to the winners. Guild Donations / Participation Fees may be implemented once the game gets more settled, but I understand at first gold and mats will be relatively scarce. I eventually want to make it a Buy In system that awards winners but also keeps gold flowing into the guild bank. Instead of doing some crappy 50/50 raffle or something I want us to be engaged and having fun! (Unless people want a 50/50 raffle. I can organize a weekly one of these as well).
TIMES - I had another thread about this at one point and the majority seemed to enjoy Wednesday at around 5 EST. It's a nice middle of the week activity that won't require a large amount of preparation and will give us something to look forward to mid week. I may schedule longer events on the weekends if we get the numbers.
NOTES - No specific prize amounts will be said as of right now. No specific order of events will be made until after launch. As the game progresses, I would be open to allowing non-guildies to participate in some of our larger events. In theory, the more people that join these events would create a larger flow of currency into the guild if we are to organize buy-ins.
And no, these events are not mandatory by any means. Hopefully I can get a couple lackeys to help me organize / prepare for some of these events. Again, if you have any suggestions / ideas, let me know!
