What's new

Sword Art Online

Its also Hulu so those who dont have premium on Crunchyroll dont have to wait the extra week :D

Also, one thing that I hope you could explain a bit that I didnt really get through watching the anime, how did his sister (cousin /however you want to call it) not know it was him right away in Alfheim? Was Kirito forced to not talk about anything that happened in Aincrad in the real world? You would think that she would immediately put two and two together and realize who he was.

Oooh, good to know about Hulu. I still like my CR sub though :)

I pretty much just had to accept it as a "predictable twist" and let it be. It's easier that way haha.

Dang that's a shame, oh well, like you said I'll just have to deal with it as such

From the novels, there were much fewer "hints" than there was from the anime. She was much less "oblivious" and even had thoughts of "could it be? no impossible" thoughts. The anime did about a 65% portrayal for Aincrad overall in terms of emotional display and inner thoughts, which is typically the hardest thing to do in a visualization of a novel.

Yo! Looks like I'm late to the party as well, but I have read the manga/short stories for these. If anyone's into the printed versions --- I had a bit of a time deciphering the order in which to read them as they were posted on Mangapark, but here's my chronological list. Gyoin, if you have a moment, maybe you could doublecheck this list?

Part 0 ("Progressive"; Asuna Prequel): http://mangapark.com/manga/sword-art-online-progressive/s2/c1v2

Part 1 ("SAO"): http://mangapark.com/manga/sword-art-online

Silica's Intro (immediately follows conclusion of SAO): http://mangapark.com/manga/sword-art-online-silica-edition-doujinshi/s2/c0

Part 2 ("Fairy Dance"; incomplete series through this link): http://mangapark.com/manga/sword-art-online-fairy-dance/s1/v1/c1

Part 2 Spin-off ("Girl Ops"; post Fairy Dance): http://mangapark.com/manga/sword-art-online-girls-ops-kawahara-reki/s3/c1

Loose End: Yui's AI origin http://mangapark.com/manga/sword-art-online-material-edition-soushuuhen-doujinshi/s2/c3

Most of the other ministories on Mangapark are filler and occur between the marriage proposal in SAO and the recruitment substory leading up to the the final fight.

Can't find the graphic novels for Fairy Dance chapter 6+, but here are the written story verions: http://www.wattpad.com/26675434-volume-4-fairy-dance-chapter-6

I"ve been watching the GGO arc on CR as well. I don't care for the setting as much (Fantasy over scifi for me), but the characters are still really good.

i am a fantasy kind of guy so i liked the first arc better. Aicard but the guns and stuff aren't bad. still really good.

The manga is on mangapanda, but it only covers the first arc up until the aincrad arc ends.

The manga went a little bit farther... I have links up above for the Alfheim manga, though I titled it "Part 2:Fairy Dance" since I wasn't too savvy that the arcs were separated by game. It is an incomplete list, which is why I moved over to the show. Might be worth checking out. It's a bit more flushed out than the anime, I believe, though probably not as much as light novels. I really need to get a good link for those translated LNs.
